Buccaneers Big Favorites

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the biggest favorites on the board as 10.5-point home picks over the Miami Dolphins.

The Buccaneers took a 2-1 record into Sunday night’s Tom Brady homecoming game against the New England Patriots in Foxborough. Tampa Bay won its first two game before losing to the Los Angeles Rams 34-24 on the road in Week 3.

The Dolphins fell to 1-3 with a 27-17 home loss to the previously winless Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Miami has lost three games in a row since beating the Patriots in Week 1.

Jacoby Brissett threw for just 73 yards through the first three quarters before finishing with 199 as he completed 20-of-30 passes.

When Brissett found Mike Gesicki with 10:40 left on fourth-and-goal from the 1, it marked just the second passing touchdown of the season for the Dolphins.

However, the Dolphins’ ensuing kickoff went out of bounds, giving Indianapolis the ball at the 40 and ending Miami’s chance to get back in the game. Carson Wentz threw a 41-yard pass to Zach Pascal on the first play of the possession to get the Colts inside the red zone, then threw a touchdown pass to Mo Alie-Cox seven plays later.

Slim Spreads

Two games have the lowest line at one point, and the Los Angeles teams are favored in each – the Rams over the Seahawks and the Chargers over the Cleveland Browns at home.

The Rams (3-1) took their first loss of the season Sunday, falling 37-20 to the Arizona Cardinals at home. It was the first time Rams’ coach Sean McVay lost to the Cardinals in nine tries.

The Rams’ defense gave up 465 total yards. Meanwhile, the Cardinals kept quarterback Matthew Stafford in check as he completed 26-of-41 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns.

The Seahawks (28-21) ended a two-game losing streak with a 28-21 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on the road as Russell Wilson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another.

The Seahawks went three-and-out on their first two possessions. Wilson then connected on a 12-yard TD pass to DK Metcalf late in the first half. Wilson produced two touchdowns in a span of less than a minute in the third quarter, with a 16-yard run and 13-yard pass to Freddie Swain.

The Chargers put their 2-1 record on the line Monday night when they host the Las Vegas Raiders. Meanwhile, the Browns (3-1) ran their winning streak to three games Sunday by beating the Minnesota Vikings 14-7 on the road.

Myles Garrett had one-half of the Browns’ two sacks and four hits on Kirk Cousins. Greedy Williams became the first player this season to intercept Cousins. After the Vikings scored on their opening drive, the Browns shut them out over the final 11 possessions.

The Browns’ Nick Chubb had 21 carries for 100 yards and Kareem Hunt ran 14 times for 69 yards and a touchdown. That offset a shaky performance from Baker Mayfield, who was 15-of-33 passing for 155 yards.

Highs and Lows

The highest total on the board is 56.5 points for the title game rematch between the Chiefs and Bills. Both teams had impressive offensive performances Sunday as the Chiefs beat the Eagles 42-30 in Philadelphia and the Bills rolled to a 40-0 blanking of the visiting Houston Texans in Orchard Park.

Patrick Mahomes threw five touchdown passes, including three to Tyreek Hill to lead the Chiefs.

The Bills’ Josh Allen was efficient on a day the defense dominated, completing 20-of-29 passes for 248 yards and two TDs.

The lowest over/under is 39.5 points for the Patriots’ game against the Texans in Houston.

Movement on the Line?

A few lines seems a little off this week, including the Vikings being favored by 7.5 points at home against the winless Detroit Lions.

While the Vikings’ offense struggled against the Browns, it seems likely early money will go on Minnesota if for no other reason than to fade the Lions.

The Steelers are 1.5-point home picks against the Denver Broncos. It feels like the wrong team might is favored, as the Broncos are 3-1 despite losing 23-7 to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, while the Steelers are 1-3 and on a three-game losing streak.
