Week 5 of the NFL season brings a loaded slate featuring premier heavyweight matchups, severe defensive mismatches, and pivotal individual battles across the league. As four weeks of game film and usage trends come into sharper focus, the betting market begins to expose massive discrepancies between player projections and sportsbook lines.

Several elite quarterbacks step into smash spots against vulnerable secondaries, setting up high-ceiling passing environments. At the same time, high-volume running backs and perimeter wideouts face contrasting tests, ranging from stout front sevens to lockdown coverage matchups that demand careful line shopping.

Uncovering statistical anomalies, target shares, and volume baselines is crucial to beating the NFL props market before numbers move. Below is your complete Week 5 NFL player props cheat sheet, delivering passing, rushing, and receiving lines for all 15 Week 5 games.

The NFL passing yards props for Week 5 indicate that Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is expected to pile up passing yards against the Bills. Stafford holds a lofty over/under of 283.5 passing yards and is the only passer with a touchdown O/U higher than 1.5, sitting at 2.5, albeit with +151 juice on the over. These elevated projections reflect his matchup against a generous Buffalo Bills secondary allowing 274.0 passing yards per game, ranking 27th in the NFL.

Starting in place of injured Lamar Jackson, Baltimore backup Tyler Huntley possesses the lowest passing yardage projection at 175.5. Bucs rookie Jalon Daniels (180.5) – thrust into the starting role due to Baker Mayfield’s injury – and Philly’s Jalen Hurts (192.5) round out the bottom tier. Hurts and Daniels share the slate’s lowest passing touchdown totals at 0.5. However, Hurts carries positive regression appeal facing a Jacksonville Jaguars defense sitting 31st against the pass, surrendering 291.5 passing yards per game.

Top-tier arms draw difficult defensive assignments elsewhere. Buffalo’s Josh Allen tests a Rams defense allowing just 145.5 passing yards per contest, second overall in the NFL. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy encounters a Seattle Seahawks unit boasting the NFL’s best passing defense at 144.8 yards allowed per game.

Betting markets show notable line movement impacting these numbers. Stafford’s total shifted up three yards from an opening line of 280.5 to 283.5. Daniels saw his yardage prop climb from 177.5 to 180.5. Meanwhile, sharp action hammered the under on Hurts, driving his total down from 195.5 to 192.5.

Recent player trends provide critical context. Stafford has exceeded 282.5 passing yards in four of his last five games. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott cleared 265.5 yards in three of his last four outings. Conversely, Hurts failed to exceed 194.5 yards in six of his last eight appearances. Huntley has fallen short of 174.5 yards in four consecutive games.

Ravens bruiser Derrick Henry headlines the NFL rushing yards props market with an 89.5 yard over/under, trailed closely by Atlanta Falcons star Bijan Robinson at 88.5. Volume expectations mirror these lines, as Henry projects for a slate-high 20.5 rushing attempts against Robinson’s 19.5. New York Jets back Isaiah Davis (10.5) and Baltimore’s Justice Hill (11.5) carry the lowest yardage projections. Atlanta’s Brian Robinson holds the lowest attempts prop at 9.5.

Defensive matchups present treacherous obstacles for top backs. Henry and Hill face an Atlanta defense ranking No. 1 against the run, suffocating opponents for 48.3 rushing yards per game and 2.72 yards per carry. Cowboys backs Javonte Williams and Tyler Goodson contend with a Tampa Bay Buccaneers front ranking third in rush defense, allowing 78.5 yards per game.

Conversely, Tampa Bay’s Bucky Irving and Kenneth Gainwell exploit an ideal environment. They attack a Cowboys run defense ranked 31st, bleeding 150.3 rushing yards per contest.

Line movement reflects mixed reactions to these matchups. Irving experienced a dramatic downward shift, plummeting from an opening 58.5 rushing yards to 52.5 after heavy under action. Goodson shifted down two yards to 16.5, and Henry dropped from 91.5 to 89.5.

Despite line movement suppressing his total, Irving has eclipsed 52.5 rushing yards in 10 of his last 11 games against bottom-10 rushing defenses. Bettors backing other overs should exercise caution. Williams failed to exceed 72.5 rushing yards in five straight games. Jets rookie Braelon Allen fell short of 69.5 yards in 12 consecutive games following a loss, while Davis missed 11.5 yards in four straight post-loss situations.

Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba sets the ceiling across NFL receiving yards props, drawing the slate’s highest total at 93.5, closely trailed by Rams star Puka Nacua at 92.5. Nacua holds the highest receptions total at 7.5, while Smith-Njigba, Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb, and Jets receiver Garrett Wilson sit at 6.5. Tez Johnson and Josh Cameron carry modest expectations, sharing the slate’s lowest receiving yardage line at 12.5. These depth targets sit at the absolute floor for projected volume with a 1.5 reception over/under.

Defensive matchups heavily influence these NFL odds. Nacua and Davante Adams exploit a porous Bills defense ranking 27th against the pass, bleeding 256.3 net passing yards per game. Ravens targets Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews face an Atlanta secondary sitting 30th in passing yards allowed (264.8). San Francisco pass-catchers George Kittle, Mike Evans, and Deebo Samuel tackle a daunting Seahawks defense ranking No. 1, shutting opponents down to 144.8 passing yards per contest.

Line movement shifted expectations for multiple high-profile players. Dallas tight end Jake Ferguson took over money, bumping his total from 25.5 to 27.5. Jacksonville’s Brian Thomas saw a corresponding increase to 24.5. Lamb’s total was faded, pushing his number down from 82.5 to 80.5, while Cleveland’s Harold Fannin dropped from 37.5 down to 35.5.

Recent output clarifies these high numbers. Smith-Njigba exceeded 93.5 receiving yards in six of his last seven games against top-10 scoring defenses. Nacua cleared 92.5 yards in four of his last five games following a win, averaging 147.6 yards over that span. Lamb hauled in over 6.5 receptions in three of his last four outings, and George Pickens exceeded 61.5 receiving yards in six straight home games following a victory.
