  • In the Week 6 NFL betting roundup, the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcon remain pictures of perfection
  • Wagering on unders and underdogs are still the winning way to play NFL games this season
  • All of New York’s teams continue to be worthy of a wager

As the NFL’s Week 6 was unfolding, that old saying, “the more things change, the more they stay the same” came to mind.

When it comes to wagering on the NFL, forget about death and taxes. It’s the under, the underdogs, the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons that are certainties when it comes to betting on pro football, at least this year.

Oh, and don’t forget those teams from the Empire State. Whether they actually play in New York, or are New York residents in name only, they’ve all proven to be pretty safe bets so far this season.

Meanwhile, DraftKings Sportsbook bettors big and small were cashing some impressive parlay paydays during Week 6 NFL betting action.

In NFL Betting, It’s All Going Under

The under is totally in control. And the underdogs are definitely the ones wearing the capes.

Through six weeks of NFL betting, the going under on the total and going with the underdog in the betting line is continuing to be a profitable strategy. During Week 6, NFL betting saw the under go 10-4 on the totals. Underdogs held an 8-6 edge over favorites.

For the season, underdogs are 52-38 ATS against favorites. In the total, the under is holding a 56-36 advantage.

Spreading A New York State Of Mind

The NFL’s three New York teams – the New York Giants (5-1), Buffalo Bills (4-1-1) and New York Jets (4-2) – are a combined 13-4-1 against the spread.

By contrast, California’s teams – the Los Angeles Chargers (4-2), San Francisco Giants (3-3) and Los Angeles Rams (2-4) – are a combined 9-9 ATS.

Getting Their Philly of Success

It’s exciting times in Philadelphia. The Phillies are in the NLCS. The Flyers are 2-0. And the Eagles are an NFL-best 6-0 straight up.

In their biggest game of the season, the Eagles won and covered in a 26-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Philadelphia is the NFL’s only remaining unbeaten straight up team.

Hot-lanta Covers Yet Again

The Eagles may be perfect in the standings, but NFL bettors know better. Philadelphia is just 4-2 against the spread. Without a late TD in the win over Dallas, they would’ve come into Week 7 a .500 ATS club.

The Super Bowl champions of NFL betting are the Atlanta Falcons. Six different teams have lined up across the field from the Falcons this season and Atlanta has covered against all of them to sit an unblemished 6-0 ATS. No other NFL team can make this boast.

Atlanta has covered all six times as a betting underdog. The Falcons have won outright and covered three times.

Last season, the Falcons closed out the campaign on an 0-3-1 ATS skid. Atlanta is getting seven points at Cincinnati in NFL Week 7 opening odds.

Big NFL Betting Play on Vikings

Recent research is offering proof that the Vikings first landed in North America in 1021 and immediately lost the Super Bowl. Okay, that last bit isn’t entirely true. However, what is true is that one bold Minnesota Vikings bettor landed a major score on the team as they played a short-staffed Miami Dolphins squad on Sunday.

The DraftKings player placed a $110,000 wager on the Vikings to cover -3 against the Dolphins at odds of -110. When Minnesota won 24-16, the winning wager returned a payout of $210,001.00.

Making the bet an even bolder play was the fact that Minnesota hadn’t won a game at Miami since 1976.

It’s Once, Twice, Three Times a Parlay

That old adage about great minds thinking alike was in evidence with another parlay card that was proving both popular and profitable for a trio of DraftKings bettors.

The winning parlay play consisted of:

  • Bengals Moneyline
  • Steelers Moneyline
  • Jets Moneyline
  • Giants Moneyline
  • Colts Moneyline
  • Vikings Moneyline
  • Patriots Moneyline
  • Falcons Moneyline

One DraftKings player decided to put $0.20 on this 8-leg live NFL moneyline parlay and hit for a $1,123.15 payout at +561479 odds. A second customer took the exact same teams in another live moneyline parlay for $10 at +476630 odds. Their winning wager returned $47,673.02.

There was a third player with exactly the same parlay card. They bet $3 at +468350 odds and their wager paid out a handsome return of $14,053.52.
