The NFL Week 9 odds are offering an intriguing matchup between two surprise teams in the TNF game. No one expected the Pittsburgh Steelers to be a playoff contender. They’ll be playing host to the Tennessee Titans, big winners last week in the NFL debut of rookie QB Will Levis.

The Steelers are 2.5-point home favorites, even though they may be without QB1 Kenny Pickett. He suffered a rib injury in Sunday’s home-field loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Sunday Night Football features the Buffalo Bills visiting the Cincinnati Bengals in a rematch from last season’s AFC divisional playoffs. The New York Jets are hosting the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.

The NFL Week 9 odds are showing the Cleveland Browns as the biggest favorite. They’re the 7.5-point home chalk against the 1-6 Arizona Cardinals. It’s the fourth time this season that Arizona is an underdog of more than a touchdown. The Cardinals are 1-3 against the spread in that scenario. That includes an 0-3 ATS slate as the road team.

As far as the smallest spread is concerned, two games are set with road teams as 1.5-point picks. The Bills are 1.5-point road picks at Cincinnati. The Indianapolis Colts are the 1.5-point chalk at the Carolina Panthers.

The largest over/under is the Miami Dolphins vs Kansas City Chiefs game at 51.5 points, while the lowest total is the 36.5 points assigned to the Minnesota Vikings vs Atlanta Falcons contest.

Titans vs Steelers Early Odds & Predictions

It’s a tale of two QBs as the Steelers and Titans meet. Following their loss to the Jaguars, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin offered no update on Pickett’s condition. That doesn’t bode well facing a short week of preparation for this game.

Tossing four TD passes in a 28-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Levis joined Minnesota Vikings Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton (1961 vs. the Chicago Bears) and former Titan Marcus Mariota (2015 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers) as the only NFL QBs with four TD passes in their first career game.

The Titans won outright as a betting underdog for the 25th time under head coach Mike Vrabel in that game and look poised do so again this week.

Pick: Titans +2.5 (-110)

Opening Bills vs Bengals Odds & Predictions

The Bengals went into San Francisco and whipped the 49ers 31-17, as QB Joe Burrow threw for three TDs. With four wins in the last five starts, the Bengals look to have righted their ship following an 0-2 start.

Buffalo was a 24-18 home-field winner over Tampa Bay in the Week 8 TNF game but again, impressed no one in doing so. The Bills are 2-2 straight up over their past four games and have allowed an average of 9.5 fourth-quarter points in those four games.

Pick: Bengals +1.5 (-110)

Expected Week 9 Line Movement

The low total on the Vikings at Falcons game stems from the news that Minnesota QB1 Kirk Cousins, who’s been enjoying a splendid season, is out for the season with an Achilles injury suffered in Sunday’s win over the Green Bay Packers.

With veteran backup Nick Mullens already on IR, the only QB left on the Minnesota depth chart is 2023 fifth round draft pick Jaren Hall. He completed three of four passes for 23 yards after replacing Cousins on Sunday in what was his first NFL action.

This betting line is already moving more towards Atlanta – from Falcons -2.5 to -3.5 points – and look for there to be more action as the week continues on the NFC South-leading Falcons.

Pick: Falcons -3.5 (-110)
