Vegas is headed back to the Stanley Cup Final. The Golden Knights completed a four-game sweep of Colorado on Tuesday night, capping a dominant run through the Western Conference with a 2-1 win at T-Mobile Arena. FanDuel has already posted hypothetical Stanley Cup Final odds for both potential opponents.

The Knights will face either the Carolina Hurricanes or Montreal Canadiens, with Carolina holding a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Final. Game 4 is Wednesday at 8:00 PM ET in Montreal. Game 1 of the Cup Final is set for June 4.

Carolina would be the favorite at -196, a 66.2% implied probability. Vegas comes back at +162, giving the Knights a 38.2% implied chance. The spread is close at +112/-142, and FanDuel expects a long series with the over 5.5 games juiced to -188.

The Hurricanes would hold home ice as the higher seed (53 wins vs Vegas’s 39). These two have never met in the playoffs, but Vegas dominated the regular season series 2-0, outscoring Carolina 10-4. Eichel had three goals and four points across those two meetings, while Frederik Andersen posted a rough .864 save percentage against the Knights.

Carolina’s path through the East has been impressive but untested. The Canes went 8-0 with back-to-back sweeps of Ottawa and Philadelphia before finally facing resistance from Montreal in the ECF. Vegas, on the other hand, has been battle-tested through 16 games and just dismantled the Presidents’ Trophy winners in four straight.

A Montreal Cup Final would flip the script. Vegas would be the -125 favorite, but the Canadiens at +104 would be nearly a coin flip. The over 5.5 games at -210 tells you FanDuel sees a long, grinding series if the Habs get through.

There’s history here. Montreal eliminated Vegas in the 2021 semifinals as massive underdogs, winning in six games on their way to the Cup Final. It’s the only playoff meeting between these franchises, and a rematch would be one of the best storylines in recent NHL history. The Knights went 0-1-1 against Montreal in the regular season, getting outscored 7-3.

Vegas’s Road to the Cup Final

The Knights are 12-4 through 16 games with a +20 goal differential. Mitch Marner leads all playoff scorers with 21 points (7 goals, 14 assists), while Jack Eichel has 18 points on 16 assists. Pavel Dorofeyev and Brett Howden have each scored 10 goals, giving Vegas four double-digit point producers. Carter Hart has been the backbone at 12-4 with a 2.22 GAA and .924 save percentage.

The Colorado sweep was the statement. Vegas took both games at Ball Arena as an underdog, then closed it out at home while limiting the highest-scoring team in the playoffs to 1.75 goals per game. Fifteen of 22 Golden Knights skaters have at least one goal this postseason. That depth is what makes this team dangerous against anyone.
