The Winnipeg Jets (4-7-3) and Carolina Hurricanes (11-2-2) are headed in opposite directions. Carolina is 8-1-1 over its last 10 games, while Winnipeg has gone 1-7-2 in that same stretch.
The Jets didn’t practice Saturday after that loss to the Panthers. Carolina is expected to run back the same lineup that beat Columbus 3-2 on Thursday, and it sits as a heavy home favorite in the latest NHL odds.
Puck drop is 1 p.m. ET in Raleigh, with NHL Network and TSN3 among the broadcast options. My Jets vs Hurricanes prediction is below.
Jets vs Hurricanes Prediction
- Hurricanes -1.5 goals (50¢ on Kalshi)
My Jets vs Hurricanes prediction is Carolina covering the puck line. A YES contract at 50¢ prices a two-goal Hurricanes win as a coin flip, and I’d rather take that position than pay 73¢ on the moneyline.
The scoring gap is wide. Carolina averages 3.73 goals per game (fourth) and allows 2.33 (second). Winnipeg scores 2.43 per game, 29th in the league, and gives up 3.36, which ranks 23rd.
Special teams tilt the same way. The Hurricanes’ power play is clicking at 22.6%, while Winnipeg’s penalty kill sits at 71.8%. A couple of Jets penalties could hand Carolina the extra goal it needs.
Jets vs Hurricanes Key Stats
Winnipeg is also short on the blueline. Josh Morrissey is out with an upper-body injury, which leaves Dylan Samberg and Neal Pionk on the top pair. Garrett Brown (lower body) is sidelined as well.
The one caution is the Oct. 17 meeting, a 3-2 Carolina win that wouldn’t have settled this contract as YES. Still, this Winnipeg team has one win in 10 games, and the goal-differential gap is too big to pass on at 50¢.
Jets vs Hurricanes Picks
My Jets vs Hurricanes player props focus on two Carolina skaters, with prices checked at theScore Bet on Oct. 31.
- Sebastian Aho Over 2.5 shots on goal (-105 at theScore Bet)
Aho centers Carolina’s projected top line between William Carrier and Andrei Svechnikov. He draws a Jets blueline missing Morrissey, on a team that ranks 23rd in goals allowed.
- Jackson Blake Over 0.5 points (-170 at theScore Bet)
Wrapping up my Jets vs Hurricanes picks, Blake skates on the projected second line with Nikolaj Ehlers and Logan Stankoven. He’s part of an attack scoring 3.73 goals per game, facing a Winnipeg side that’s allowed five goals in its last outing.
Jets vs Hurricanes Odds
The Jets vs Hurricanes odds on Kalshi make Carolina a big favorite. Its 73¢ moneyline contract carries about a 73% implied chance, while Winnipeg trades at 28¢.
The puck line is essentially a coin flip, with YES at 50¢ and NO at 51¢. The total leans low, as Under 6.5 trades at 56¢ compared to 45¢ for the Over.

Jets vs Hurricanes Projected Lineups
Winnipeg is projected to start Stuart Skinner, with Pyotr Kochetkov expected for Carolina. Neither team has confirmed its starter. Skinner is 3-3-3 with a 2.97 GAA and .899 save percentage in nine games.
