The Toronto Maple Leafs head west to face the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday, and both teams want to wash the taste of a lopsided loss out of their mouths. Toronto fell 5-2 to Calgary on Monday, while Seattle dropped a 5-1 decision to Minnesota on Saturday.
The Kraken have had three full days off since that Minnesota loss, while the Leafs get just one day between games before this one.
Puck drop is 7 pm PT / 10 pm ET from Climate Pledge Arena. I’ve got a side, a total and a shots prop lined up, so let’s get into my Maple Leafs vs Kraken prediction, puck line and Wednesday NHL picks.
Maple Leafs vs Kraken Prediction
- Kraken to win (48¢ at Kalshi)
I’m siding with the home team for my Maple Leafs vs Kraken prediction. A 48¢ contract on Seattle works out to a 48% implied chance, and I think the Kraken win this more often than that with the rest edge on their side.
Seattle (7-4-1) is 3-2 at home, scoring 3.4 goals per game in its own barn. The offense comes from everywhere. Kaapo Kakko leads the team with ten points, and Jordan Eberle, Brandon Montour and Berkly Catton are all one back with nine.
Toronto (7-5-2) has the bigger names, with Auston Matthews at 20 points and William Nylander right behind him at 19. The Leafs are 3-2-1 on the road with 4.67 goals per game away from home, so I’m not expecting a quiet night from their top six.
Still, Toronto allows 3.00 goals and 30.1 shots per game. Philipp Grubauer is projected to start for Seattle and brings a 4-1-1 record, .907 save percentage and 2.76 GAA. It’s a small sample, but I’m happy to hold a position on the rested home side under 50¢. New users can grab the Kalshi promo code before trading this one.
Maple Leafs vs Kraken Puck Line
Kalshi’s version of the Maple Leafs vs Kraken puck line has Toronto winning by two or more goals at 32¢. The other side, Seattle losing by one or winning outright, costs 69¢.
Maple Leafs vs Kraken Kalshi Prices
Each Kalshi contract pays $1 if it hits, so the price in cents doubles as the market’s implied probability. A 48¢ Kraken contract returns 52¢ in profit before fees if Seattle wins.
TheScore Bet prices are in the same neighborhood. Toronto sits at -120 (about a 54.5% implied chance) with Seattle at even money, while the Leafs -1.5 pays +185, roughly a 35% shot. The Kraken +1.5 costs -250, which translates to about 71.4%.
I’m not paying 69¢ for an extra goal of cushion. If I like Seattle, I’d rather hold the outright contract at 48¢. Compare prices with the latest NHL Odds before puck drop.
Maple Leafs vs Kraken: Wednesday NHL Picks
- Over 6.5 goals (53¢ at Kalshi)
My next pick is on goals. The Over trades at 53¢, a 53% implied chance, and both clubs score more than 3.5 goals per game this season.
Seattle has gone over 6.5 in eight of twelve games, while Toronto has done it in seven of 14. Leafs road games are averaging 7.67 combined goals, and Kraken home games sit at 6.8. Small samples, sure, but both trends point the same way.
- Brandon Montour Over 2.5 shots on goal (-125 at theScore Bet)
I’m turning to the Seattle blueline to wrap up my Maple Leafs vs Kraken picks. Brandon Montour’s -125 price implies about a 55.6% chance, and Toronto is giving up 30.1 shots per game.
Montour has nine points (two goals, seven assists), tied for second on the team, so he’s heavily involved in the offense. With the Leafs allowing that much volume, I expect him to get plenty of looks from the point. Shop more NHL Player Props for Wednesday’s slate.
Maple Leafs vs Kraken Injuries and Goalies
Seattle has ruled out Jared McCann. Philipp Grubauer is the projected starter for the Kraken. Toronto has confirmed Sergei Bobrovsky will be back between the pipes, despite losing to Calgary on Monday.
