My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell speaks at a press conference as President Donald Trump listens
My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell speaks as President Donald Trump listens during a briefing about the coronavirus in the Rose Garden of the White House, in Washington. Lindell, an avid supporter of President Donald Trump, who has continued to push the notion of election fraud since Trump lost to Joe Biden in the presidential election in November, said his products will no longer be carried in the stores of some retailers, including Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl's. • The MyPillow Guy, occasionally known as Mike Lindell, has been added to the 2024 presidential election odds
  • He joins an already-hilarious list of “candidates” that includes Elon Musk, Eric Trump, and Oprah
  • See the worst bets on the board

As Joe Biden assumes the presidency and Donald J. Trump ebbs from the country’s political landscape – at least slightly – sportsbooks are adjusting the 2024 election odds in new and, frankly, laughable ways.

Mike Lindell, better known as the MyPillow Guy, was the latest pseudo-candidate added to the political futures. He’s far from the first non-politician to find himself on the board.

The table below has been curated to show only the most-preposterous celebrity names in the 2024 election odds. The term “celebrity” is used loosely.

2024 Presidential Election Odds: “Celebrity” Candidates

Candidate Odds
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson +2800
Tucker Carlson +3300
Mark Cuban +4775
Kanye West +7500
Jon Stewart +8500
Elon Musk +8750
George Clooney +10000
Oprah Winfrey +10000
Meghan Markle +12500
Bill Maher +15000
MyPillow Guy (Mike Lindell) +15000
Dave Portnoy +22500
Jeff Bezos +25000

Odds as of January 28, 2021.

Why Is the MyPillow Guy on the List?

Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, has been a donor to right-wing organizations for years and a vocal advocate of Donald Trump, both during Trump’s time in the White House and after. In the wake of the 2020 election, Lindell echoed baseless claims that the outcome was rigged. After the riots at the Capitol, he stated that the Trump supporters were peaceful and that ANTIFA was to blame for the violence.

Lindell has since been banned from Twitter and major retail chains have stopped carrying his company’s products.

On Friday, January 15th, Lindell was photographed entering the White House for a meeting with then-President Trump. He was carrying notes which appeared to advocate for the imposition of martial law.

Lindell has never held, or even run for, public office, but unlike many others on the list above, he has at least said he’s seriously considering it. He’s currently flirting with running for Governor of his home state, Minnesota, in 2022, neither committing to it nor disavowing rumors.

But even so, a Gubernatorial run is a far cry from leading the Republican party into its 2024 bid to retake Washington. Lindell is on the list because his name has been in political headlines. He’s not a realistic candidate.

Are Any of These “Celebrities” Realistic Candidates?

Everyone who identifies as a Democrat can be tossed out. If Joe Biden isn’t the nominee in 2024, Kamala Harris almost certainly will be. It’s telling that the current odds to be the Democratic nominee in four years’ time actually slightly favor the 56-year-old VEEP over the 78-year-old president.

Jon Stewart, George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Maher, and Meghan Markle won’t be on the ticket.

Several of the people listed above are not clearly Republican or Democrat, including billionaires Mark Cuban, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos. All three have the financial means to fund an independent run for the White House, especially Musk and Bezos, the two richest people in the world.

Cuban debated running as an independent in 2020 but decided against it. By almost any standard, Cuban is preposterously rich. The one standard where he isn’t is the Musk/Bezos standard. Cuban’s net worth of USD$4.2 billion is a  pittance to Musk and Bezos, who have in excess of USD$200 billion each. It’s estimated that, cumulatively, Joe Biden and Donald Trump’s 2020 campaigns spent over USD$11 billion. Putting together a serious run for the White House would be a meaningful expenditure for Cuban.

Tucker Carlson Has the Backing and the Platform

In late 2020, The Express published a story about several prominent players in the GOP backing Fox News host Tucker Carlson for a 2024 bid. Carlson, himself, said that he can’t imagine a world where he is a serious presidential candidate. Four years ago, that might have been true. Then Donald Trump was elected to the highest office in the land. Carlson looks positively qualified by comparison. His moral compass aside, he’s a much more talented orator than Trump. He also has a massive amount of name recognition and the necessary ego to think he can do the job.

It’s still far-fetched that Carlson will end up the 47th president of the United States, but there is at least an obvious path for the commentator to put together a serious bid within a party that is searching for leadership.
