NASCAR heads to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the third race of the 2022 season. The race comes from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The odds look different yet again this week. This is a week after the Wise Power 400, where Kyle Larson found a way to make a few successful blocks, retook the lead, then held off everyone for his first win of 2022.

Arizona sports bettors are getting stoked. They’ll have a race in their backyard at Phoenix Raceway next Sunday.

Kyle Larson Favored Again in Pennzoil 400 Odds

NASCAR drivers will run on the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway when the flag drops for the Sunday afternoon race beginning around 3:30 PM EST. This track should deliver more expected results. It is an intermediate track that favors those that thrive on high-wear scenarios. Conditions will be excellent, with Mostly Sunny skies and temperatures likely in the Low 60s.

Larson has a great track record on the 1.5-mile intermediate tracks with an average finish of 8.0 since 2019. His driver rating of 106.3 ranks fifth among all active drivers. The defending series champion won here just last year and led 103 laps.

Currently, Larson again is the favorite at +450 odds (started +400). Teammate Chase Elliott now stands at +700. But, when it comes to Caesars Sportsbook, the No. 5 driver sees his odds shorten to +350 (opened +250).

Team Hendrick sets up well here with William Byron and Alex Bowman having the same odds at Caesars (+1200 and +2000 respectively).

Lastly, Larson (2021 winner) and the other Hendricks looked better than expected in testing. There could be a lingering problem on another team, however.

Can Joe Gibbs Racing Solve A Problem?

Sports bettors have some history on their side at the tri-oval. The Joe Gibbs Racing drivers took a small hit in the NASCAR Cup Series odds, but here is where it gets interesting. Is this a more permanent problem or is this an issue that has some sort of solution?

The good news (like the Manifold screen issue for Larson last year) is this. A protective screen was the culprit. Who knew diverting airflow would be a problem. Chalk it up to a self-inflicted wound. Simply, Joe Gibbs Racing drivers could have value before the weekend hits.

Pennzoil 400 Predictions & Picks

The driver that ranks the best heading into this week is Denny Hamlin. Like we mentioned, the No. 11 Joe Gibbs driver has led 19.19% of the laps here since 2019 (+800 on the Caesars Sportsbook sports betting app).

There are other intriguing options to look at. Bowman is one to look at (mentioned above) along with Elliott. Christopher Bell is +3000 in the Pennzoil 400 odds at Barstool and Caesars Sportsbook. He has to be considered along with Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano.

Bubba Wallace may not win, but he is +12500 at Caesars Sportsbook compared to +10000 at Barstool Sportsbook in Pennzoil 400 odds.

The stage format is 80-80-107 for laps. Expect a better showing from Joe Gibbs Racing this week.
