Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Bundesliga Matchday 21 Odds & Pick
- On Sunday, February 9th, league leaders Bayern Munich will host RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena, kicking off at 12:00 pm EST
- The game could sway the top of the Bundesliga table with RB Leipzig only sitting one point back of the joint lead on the same number of games
- Currently, Bayern are the heavy favorites in the match with a moneyline of -244
This weekend, the Bundesliga could see new leaders at the top of the table if underdogs, RB Leipzig, manage to pull off an upset away at Bayern Munich. The team led by sought after front-man Timo Werner is sitting at 41 points off 20 games, just one point below Bayern’s 42.
In the reverse fixture, a halftime penalty kick scored by Emil Forsberg was enough to secure a draw at the Red Bull Arena. However, since that match Hans-Dieter Flick’s side have lost the services of Niklas Sule, Kingsley Coman, Ivan Perisic, and Javi Martinez due to injury.

Lewandowski Pouring in Goals Once Again
Despite injury issues, the Bavarians have managed to win their last eight games, tracking all the way back to early December. More impressively, they have outscored their opponents in those games by a score of 30-7. They have been paced by Robert Lewandowski who has a staggering 22 goals in all competitions.
It is also worth mentioning that since Kovac’s sacking, Bayern Munich have been playing a totally different brand of football. They are playing much wider, and opponents are seeing many more crosses come into the box. Red Bull Leipzig have conceded 12 times in six games, so it will be interesting to see how many Bayern can put past them.

While Bayern is Bayern, a team filled with world-class talent, we must not forget how good Leipzig have been this season; they really have been a breath of fresh air in the Bundesliga. Before this poor pair of games, they have only dropped seven points since the end of October, which is really incredible.

With that being said, they have been on a bad strip of form, drawing a game to Monchengladbach, and losing two matches against Frankfurt in the league and DFB-Pokal. If they want to get a positive result, surely Werner will have to be involved, scoring 20 of the team’s 53 goals in all competitions during this year’s campaign.
Best Bet
The best bet for this match is to go with RB Leipzig covering their spread. If they keep the game within a goal’s difference you will cash half your bet. The moneyline bets are very extreme for this fixture, with either no value or going up against extreme odds.
There is no sugarcoating it, winning at the Allianz Arena against a Bayern team on flying form will not be easy. However, Leipzig are good enough to keep the game within reach, and are due for a return back to good play. Getting through the first 20 minutes without conceding will be crucial, but the objective is more than doable.
My Pick: Leipzig covering the spread (+104)
