Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Over/Under and Spread

Oddsmakers are unsure which way this will go in terms of goals, with under 2.5 listed in at -120, and the over pitched similarly at -110.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Preview

Sunday felt like a good time for Palace to visit Stamford Bridge with Graham Potters’ Blues enduring a tough spell, but they were unable to make the most of the opportunity. In the end, Kai Havertz’s 64th-minute header was enough to win the game, leaving the Eagles down in 12th spot.

It was Palace’s third straight defeat – a run that also saw them knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Southampton – and after a successful autumn, Patrick Viera’s men are finding the winter months not to their liking.

Struggling Palace

With their team’s form wobbling, Palace fans are looking over their shoulders with the Eagles now closer to the relegation zone than they are to the top six. Following the Chelsea defeat, Viera’s men are nine points adrift of Fulham in 6th but only seven clear of West Ham in 18th.

While United arrive at Selhurst Park in top form, Palace can’t afford to write this one off before a ball has been kicked. Not since September 2017 have they lost three on the spin on their home patch and they can ill afford it to happen again now.

United on the Charge

Second-half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were enough to earn United the Manchester bragging rights at the weekend, and it was all the sweeter for the fact they had to come from behind to win the game. A rare header from Jack Grealish has given Man City the lead early in the second period.

It was a win that wasn’t without controversy – United’s first, from Fernandes, was given only after a lengthy VAR inspection, which deemed a clearly offside Rashford not to be interfering with play – but it took United’s run of consecutive wins to nine.

Ten on the Spin for Red Devils?

While they remain in fourth, United have emerged as credible challengers to league-leaders Arsenal, who they play at the Emirates on Sunday. A win at Selhurst for Erik ten Hag’s men will add even more spice to what looks likely to be the game of the season so far in Islington at the weekend and would take the Red Devils up to second in the table.

If United can make it ten wins on the spin on Wednesday, it will be the first time since 2009 – back in the days of Sir Alex Ferguson – that they have managed that impressive feat. In this same fixture last season, on the final weekend, Palace managed a surprise 1-0 win.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Prediction

It’s hard to see anything other than a United win, such is their rich vein of form, particularly with the Palace backline likely to be without Joachim Andersen. Therefore, the value is probably in predicting the size of the United win for your Crystal Palace vs Manchester United picks.

For me, the away win at 2-0 looks great value at +750

Picks: Man Utd to win 2-0 (+750) / Man Utd to win (-140)
