Aston Villa vs Arsenal Prediction

For both teams, this fixture on EPL Matchday 23 is extremely important. Villa are just four points off a European spot, while the Gunners can leapfrog the Lions with three points and also move closer to Europa League football for next term.

Dean Smith’s men have run into a poor spell of form recently, winning just twice in their last five appearances. It’ll be a quick turnaround for Villa as well after suffering a 3-1 defeat to West Ham on Wednesday thanks to Jesse Lingard’s brace in his Hammers debut.

Despite Aston Villa’s struggles as of late, there’s a whole lot to be happy about this term. They have a realistic shot at Europe, which is a far cry from almost being relegated last season.

Jack Grealish continues to be the engine of Villa’s attack, bagging six goals and tallying 10 assists already. The England international will be looking to get his side out of this rut and lead them to their third-straight victory against Arsenal, a feat that hasn’t been completed by the Villans since 1993.

Mikel Arteta has seemed to revive this Gunners side. The North Londoners have put forward some very solid performances over the last month, losing just twice in 10 matches. Along the way, they’ve secured victories over Chelsea, Southampton, and even took away a point in a hard-fought draw with United.

Tuesday’s defeat to Wolves was unlucky as can be for Arsenal though. A questionable red card sent off David Luiz just before the halftime whistle which allowed the hosts to equalize from the spot then it was all downhill from there.

Although both of these sides need a victory equally as bad, I like the visitors here. Arsenal has just shown real poise and quality all over the pitch and after a disappointing result on Tuesday, I think they’re going to come out firing.

Pick: Arsenal to Win by 1(+350)

Manchester United vs Everton Prediction

United will be focused on beating the Toffees on Saturday in EPL Matchday 23. But, they’ll also hope Liverpool can beat City because then, the Red Devils would move into a two-way tie for first place on points alone, although goal difference would still keep the Citizens in top spot.

Solskjaer’s men could not be coming into this match with more confidence. They just dismantled Southampton 9-0 on Tuesday after the Saints received two red cards, including one in the first two minutes.

Seven different players found the back of the net, led by Anthony Martial who netted a double. Man United’s lone defeat in their last 16 Premier League appearances was last week against Sheffield but other than that, they have looked spectacular.

Everton started off the term in wonderful form. There was a small lull there in November where they couldn’t find a victory, but they seem to have found themselves recently. A strong performance against Leeds on Wednesday saw the Toffees secure three points in a 2-1 win.

However, their struggles against the Red Devils have been real. The Merseysiders have just one victory to show for in 11 previous meetings with United. But if they can find a result here, it would be their fifth-straight victory away from Goodison.

Even though the hosts are in top form, I actually like the thought of Everton causing some problems for United. Solskjaer’s men have lost four times on home soil, but I don’t believe a defeat is in the cards.

Pick: Draw (+335)

Leeds United vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds welcomes Crystal Palace to Elland Road on Monday in the final match of EPL Matchday 23, who sit level with the Peacocks on 29 points. Although Leeds is a thrilling side to watch in the final third, their backline has been atrocious this term, conceding 38 times. That’s second-worst in the Premier League to only West Brom, who sit in the relegation zone.

However, the Whites have created some wonderful goals. They always dominate possession and work extremely hard, getting praise as one of the fittest teams in England’s top flight. Their form recently though has been dismal, going 2-0-3 in five matches.

Palace comes into this fixture with their heads held high, winning two straight. Tuesday saw the Eagles beat Newcastle by a goal thanks to Gary Cahill’s winner in just the 25th minute. Roy Hodgson’s men will be looking to replicate their last meeting with Leeds where they beat them 4-1 in early November.

Crystal Palace will likely be without their most creative attacking player in Wilfried Zaha, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Magpies. Youngster Eberechi Eze will be one to watch though. He possesses the ability to score solo goals and with a weak Leeds backline, Eze could take advantage of their vulnerabilities.

I do think Leeds will collect three points here. But, it will be close. Bet on the one-goal victory.

Pick: Leeds to Win by 1 (+280)
