FC Midtjylland vs Lazio Prediction

Lazio began their Europa League campaign with a 4-2 victory over Feyenoord. Midtjylland didn’t have such an enjoyable time on Matchday 1, falling 1-0 to Sturm Graz. The visitors are favorites for this one at -113, despite winning just two of their eight matches in this competition in 2021-22.

This is Midtjylland’s first encounter with an Italian opponent since a loss and a draw with Atalanta in the 2020-21 Champions League group stage. The club from Herning and Ikast were heavily beaten by Benfica in both legs of their Champions League qualification tie, and their recent form leaves a lot to be desired with just one win in nine matches across all competitions.

Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio made it back-to-back wins by beating Verona 2-0 at the weekend. Their away form in Europe is abysmal, with seven defeats from nine, but after their performance against Feyenoord, bettors can still feel confident backing the visitors here in your Europa League picks.

Pick: Lazio Moneyline (-113)

Real Betis vs Ludogorets Razgrad Prediction

Real Betis got the ball rolling with a 2-0 win over HJK last week. Ludogorets are surprisingly level on points with Los Verdiblancos after their win over Roma. This is a major opportunity for both teams to move into a commanding position in Group C after just two matches. Betis, naturally, are hefty favorites at a -275 price to win the match.

The away team have already won three ties in UEFA competition, two in Champions League qualification before dropping into the Europa League playoff, where they beat Zalgiris. Last season was a disappointment with no wins in the Europa League group stage, but Ludogorets have decent European experience and bring high confidence levels into this match. It’s three wins in a row for Ludogorets, including 4-0 and 6-0 domestic triumphs over Botev Vratsa and Hebar 1918 respectively.

Betis, though, have been every bit as impressive, winning five of six in all competitions. Their only defeat came against Real Madrid. They have lost just three times in their last 15 home matches in continental competition.

The home side should have enough to take all three points, but Ludogorets have scored in all nine of their European matches this term, and we fancy their chances at doing so again here.

Pick: Real Betis Moneyline and BTTS (+225)

Braga vs Union Berlin Prediction

The group stage odds tabbed these two as the favorites to progress from Group D even after Union Berlin fell to Union St.Gilloise in the first round of fixtures. Braga got off to the start they hoped for, winning 2-0 away to Malmo. The club from the north of Portugal reached the last eight of this competition last season, and come into this match in good form with five straight league wins.

Union Berlin have played well in the early going too and remarkably sits on top of the Bundesliga. They have avoided defeat against both Leipzig and Bayern Munich. Their chances of a positive result here were enhanced at the weekend as Braga’s run of clean sheets came to an end.

Braga have an exceptional record at home and won five of six at Estádio Municipal de Braga in the Europa League last season. Union have maintained their resilience from last season, but their expected goals mark domestically shows they have ridden a fair bit of luck. The home win is the way to go for your Europa League picks.

Pick: Braga Moneyline (+125)
