Celta Vigo vs Barcelona Prediction

Barcelona head into this game on Saturday on La Liga Matchday 13 in desperate need of three points and thankfully for the Catalans, Celta Vigo is in poor form. They currently sit in 15th place in La Liga, winning just three games this term while losing seven. On top of that, Celta has tasted defeat in three of their last five matches.

However, last time out, Eduardo Coudet’s side salvaged a point in a scoreless draw with a high-flying Rayo Vallecano squad. Vigo has only conceded 14 times thus far in 12 outings but they’ve been rather toothless in the final third, scoring a mere 10 goals. To make matters worse, Coudet’s men have only two victories to show for in their last nine meetings with Barca.

Barcelona is in a new era after sacking Ronald Koeman and needless to say, the results need to improve on a much more consistent basis. The La Liga giants are sitting in unfamiliar territory in ninth spot, winning only once in their previous five league games. On a more positive note though, Sergi Barjuan’s group is coming off a 1-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv mid-week in the Champions League.

While Barca is historically dominant against Celta, They’ve yet to win on the road in 2021/22, losing twice and drawing twice. Despite recently losing Ousmane Dembele and Sergino Dest to injury, I think you’ll see Barca narrowly pull out the three points here in a one-goal victory.

Pick: Barcelona to Win by 1 (+230)

Valencia vs Atletico Madrid Prediction

Valencia welcomes reigning champions Atletico to Mestalla Stadium on Sunday on La Liga Matchday 13. Los Che is struggling immensely, currently stuck in 10th place with a 4-4-4 record. They were beaten 4-1 by Real Betis last Wednesday but responded on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Villarreal.

Hugo Guillamon and Carlos Soler scored to seal the full points, with the latter netting his team-leading fourth goal of the season. Unfortunately, though, Valencia is on a 13-game winless streak against Atleti which dates back to 2014.

Diego Simeone’s side is right in the mix at the top of the table once again, trailing Sociedad by just three points. Atletico throttled Betis 3-0 on Matchday 12 behind an impressive attacking performance but will be looking to bounce back from yet another UCL defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday.

Atleti is in terrific form against Valencia as well, going unbeaten in their last six visits to Mestalla. The title-holders haven’t lost in league play since September 25th, either. Simeone’s squad also secured the double over Los Che last term with 3-1 and 1-0 victories.

Valencia is improving, especially on home soil. They’ve suffered defeat only once in their last eight there. I personally think you’ll see the hosts build off an impressive performance against Villarreal and secure a point on Sunday.

Pick: Draw +225

Real Betis vs Sevilla Prediction

Betis will be looking to turn around their fortunes against rivals Sevilla on Sunday in La Liga Matchday 13. The hosts are winless in five clashes with Los Nervionenses. 2018 was the last time Betis actually beat them. Manuel Pelligrini’s men are flying high this term though, sitting just four points shy of the top.

But, Los Verdiblancos have lost two straight games to Atletico in La Liga then Bayer Leverkusen in Europa on Thursday. In the process, they conceded seven goals and failed to score once. Needless to say, it’s certainly not the form Betis wants to be in heading into such a big fixture.

Sevilla is showing very well this season with a 7-3-1 record. The side has been very strong on both ends of the pitch, scoring 19 times while conceding a La Liga-low seven goals. A victory here could potentially put them in first place, depending on what Madrid or Sociedad do.

Julen Lopetegui’s side most recently cruised to a 2-0 victory over Osasuna on Matchday 12 behind goals from Diego Carlos and Lucas Ocampos. However, Sevilla did lose to Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Both of these clubs are very close to one another in terms of quality right now. While Betis have won three consecutive games on home soil, Sevilla is in better form lately.

Pick: Sevilla +160
