  • Neymar is giving off indications of his desire to leave PSG and return to Barcelona
  • There are reports that he’s shared this thought with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez
  • Barcelona has made no statement on whether it is interested in a Neymar reunion

Neymar apparently wants Barcelona but does Barcelona want Neymar?

According to published reports, the Brazilian international striker, who bolted La Liga giants Barcelona two years ago for Paris Saint-Germain in a massive $250 million transfer deal, would love to come back.

Oddsmakers are doubtful that another massive move is in the cards. They are favoring Neymar to stay put at PSG for the 2019-20 season.

Neymar related his unhappiness about the lack of European success he’s enjoyed in France.

PSG has been eliminated from the Champions League in the Round of 16 in each of the past two seasons.

De Ligt at the End of the Tunnel?

Neymar wants out of Barcelona, and Messi and Suarez both seem to like the idea. Barcelona, though, appears to be pursuing other agendas.

The no. 1 target of the Spanish club is Ajax captain and Dutch international defender Matthijs De Ligt, just 19. He was a seven-goal scorer this season and helped Ajax reached the final four of the Champions League.

Barca has reportedly soured on Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.

Would Neymar Do a Real Deal?

If he can’t have Barcelona, is there a chance that Real Madrid might be in for him? They’ve coveted Neymar from back in the days when he was still in Brazil with Santos.

However, Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez is adamant that they have no interest in pursuing the Brazilian star.

Where Can He Go?

Neymar and French international forward Kylian Mbappe are both expressing a desire to leave PSG. That’s easier said than done when you’re players holding their type of transfer value. Few clubs are able to afford such a high price tag.

If neither Spanish giant bites, that leaves a few top English sides. But Manchester United looks to be leaning toward Gareth Bale and Manchester City really doesn’t need them.

Neymar might be left with no choice but to lay down and accept the reality that for the time being, he’s stuck at PSG.
