When the star-studded attack of Portugal meets a battle-tested Croatia squad in Toronto on Thursday (7:00 pm ET), I see value in a few different places on the player-prop board.
Portugal brings tremendous offensive firepower, led by aging-but-still-prolific Cristiano Ronaldo, midfield engine Bruno Fernandes, and Joao Felix. They will press to exploit a Croatian defense that has looked vulnerable during the early stages of this tournament.
Croatia remains a dangerous underdog. Spearheaded by target man Ante Budimir, they are always capable of finding the back of the net when the stakes peak.
The table below summarizes by top Portugal/Croatia player props. Under the table, I have provided my analysis and one-click options to tail the bets.
Portugal vs Croatia Goalscorer Picks
All three of my picks are plus-money if you utilize prediction markets. My prop picks for Croatia/Portugal start with Bruno Fernandes either scoring or assisting; I’m also backing 41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo to score again, along with Ante Budimir as a Croatian longshot.
Bruno Fernandes 1+ Goal or Assist (+108 / 48¢ at Kalshi)
My favorite prop bet for this game is Bruno Fernandes to record a goal or an assist at 48¢, which is equal to +108 odds.
Fernandes has four goals and five assists across 15 national-team appearances since March 2025, including a hat trick against Armenia, an assist against Uzbekistan at this World Cup, two assists in a friendly win over the USA, a goal against Chile, and an assist in the Nations League win over Denmark.
Portugal’s attack runs through his set-piece delivery, final-third passing, and late box arrivals, so this market captures both his finishing upside and his chance-creation role.
Compared with his 23¢ anytime-goal price, the goal-or-assist contract gives bettors a broader and more realistic path to profit without paying an excessive premium.
Cristiano Ronaldo 1+ Goal (+127 / 44¢ at Kalshi)
Ronaldo to score a goal is my second prop for this game. Looking at his national team game logs, Ronaldo has produced 12 goals and one assist across 15 Portugal appearances since November 2024, with goal contributions in eight of those matches.
He has also already scored twice at this World Cup, both coming in the 5-0 win over Uzbekistan, and his recent Portugal log includes braces against Hungary, Armenia, and Poland, as well.
Ronaldo’s 45¢ anytime-goal price is playable, but the 57¢ goal-or-assist contract adds a second path to cash while still tying the bet to Portugal’s most likely focal point in the penalty area.
Ante Budimir Anytime Goalscorer (+376 / 21¢ at Polymarket)

Croatia must crack a disciplined but not impenetrable defense, and I am targeting Ante Budimir at an appealing +376 price at Polymarket.
Budimir’s national-team stats provide a clear route to cash. He scored the winner in 45 minutes against Panama at this World Cup, added World Cup qualifying goals against the Czech Republic and Gibraltar in June 2025, and scored in Croatia’s Nations League win over France in March 2025.
He also has relevant matchup history, having scored in Croatia’s 2-1 friendly win over Portugal in June 2024.
He is Croatia’s penalty-area focal point and, at +376, is worth backing as a relative longshot.
