Tigres Vie for Modest Win Streak
Tigres will be aiming to win two in a row in league action for the first time in 2021 when they hit the pitch for Saturday night’s contest.
The club needed a goal in the 89th minute to escape with a 1-0 victory over Queretaro in their most recent outing last weekend. In addition to ending a five-match winless streak, the victory also marked the first time the club has kept a clean sheet since their decisive 2-0 home win over Leon back in early January.
Now stalled in 11th place on the Liga MX table, UANL have plenty of work to do to regain the form that powered them to five straight shutout wins last fall. The club was outscored by a 7-4 margin during their recent five-match slide.
They have also surrendered seven total goals over their past four home dates in league play, while being limited to just a single marker in four of their past five home dates.
UANL Outclassed in Recent Dates with Eagles
The club also has plenty of work to do to reverse their current struggles against Club America. Tigres have been outscored by a wide 8-3 margin while losing three in a row to the Eagles, including a lopsided 4-2 defeat in Club America’s last visit, back in December 2019. Injuries have also emerged as concern for Tigres.

Veteran Hugo Ayala is sidelined until at least May after recently undergoing knee surgery, and will be joined on the sidelines by fellow defender Luis Rodriguez, who has reportedly been ruled out of Saturday’s clash with an ankle injury.

Win Streak Threatened by Injuries
Injuries have also arisen as a concern for Club America, as they continue their battle for the top of the Liga MX table. Reports are indicating that Henry Martin will not be available for Saturday’s match.
The club’s leading scorer this season with 15 goals, Martin has played a huge role in the Eagles’ resurgence, scoring four times over his past four outings, including a two-goal performance in the club’s 3-0 rout of Guadalajara four weeks ago.

But even without Martin in the lineup, America enjoy no shortage of offensive options to call upon. In addition to Martin, seven different Eagles players have contributed markers during the club’s 7-0-0 run, with the club outscoring opponents by a wide 14-3 margin during that stretch.
Eagles Emerging as Road Warriors
That dominance extends to recent road dates, with America outgunning opponents by a wide 8-1 margin while ending a worrisome nine-match winless streak with four straight victories across all competitions, capped by this week’s 2-1 win over Olimpia in CONCACAF Champions League action.

With the Eagles offense clicking, and Tigres struggling at both ends of the pitch, America offers enormous value as a betting underdog on Saturday. Look for them to extend their current surge with a win in a relatively high-scoring clash.
The Picks: Club America to win (+205); OVER 2.5 (+128)
