The US Open Women’s semifinals take center stage at Arthur Ashe Stadium tonight at 8:10 pm ET, featuring a blockbuster showdown between Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina. With their head-to-head series tied at 1-1, this high-stakes clash pits the World No. 4 against the No. 2 player in the WTA rankings.

For bettors, the critical matchup question is whether Gauff can protect her serve against the potent Kazakh star. During their recent semifinal meeting in Toronto last month, Gauff committed six double faults while Rybakina capitalized by winning four break points. Gauff must tighten her service game to flip the script and justify her status as the slight favorite.

Gauff will step on the court as a slight moneyline favorite, while laying 1.5 games on the spread. The total sits at 22.5 games, and I found superior value shopping lines at prediction markets instead of traditional sportsbooks.

My primary prediction is for Rybakina to reach the final, and the case is supported by both her current hard-court profile and the underlying matchup numbers. Tennis Abstract’s current Elo ratings and Tennis Ratio’s 52-week key-stat comparison give Rybakina a 2,112.2 hard-court Elo against Gauff’s 2,086.8, while she also holds clear advantages in dominance efficiency (1.310 to 1.013), match efficiency (2.842 to 2.413) and breakpoints prevail (1.875 to 1.417). Those numbers do not indicate a mismatch, but they do identify Rybakina as the more efficient hard-court player in a matchup priced essentially as a pick’em.

The serve is the biggest separator. Rybakina wins 82.8% of her service games and 74.3% of first-serve points, compared with Gauff’s 69.4% and 67.6%, and she saves 65.7% of break points versus 53.4% for Gauff. Her 0.64 aces per game and 0.25 double faults per game also create a more reliable pressure profile than Gauff’s 0.27 aces and 0.52 double faults.

Rybakina has won 13 of her last 14 hard-court matches across Toronto, Cincinnati and the US Open, with the only loss coming to Iga Swiatek in Toronto. Her straight-set US Open wins over Naomi Osaka and Zheng Qinwen also show that the serve is holding up against elite opposition. Gauff’s own 14-1 hard-court run since Toronto, highlighted by wins over Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva, shows why this is not a one-sided matchup, but Rybakina’s 65.7% pressure points won on serve, compared with Gauff’s 58.3%, gives the underdog the more dependable profile in the biggest moments.

That recent matchup result and her superior serve profile make +100 attractive even though Gauff has been the steadier overall winner in New York.

Their most recent meeting reveals a decisive matchup dynamic: Rybakina’s elite return game. In that contest, Rybakina outpaced Gauff by winning 98 total points to 80. By generating 11 break opportunities and converting four, the current World No. 2 showcased how her consistent baseline pressure forces Gauff into vulnerable service positions.

While Rybakina holds a distinct tactical advantage on serve, Gauff’s return remains a major counter. Gauff wins 41.7% of return points against first serves, 44.6% of return games and 47.2% of break points, all better than Rybakina’s 34.5%, 33.0% and 44.9%.

That combination points to a match in which Rybakina can protect enough service games to win, but Gauff’s return pressure and 68.8% tiebreak-win rate can keep the sets close. Their Toronto meeting went three sets, and both players have the weapons to trade holds before a late break decides a set. Backing the over on 22.5 games complements the Rybakina moneyline pick in what should be a competitive semifinal.
