- World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will be defending his Wimbledon title and competing on his first ATP grass event of the year
- Rafael Nadal expressed his displeasure with the Wimbledon seeding system after he saw his seeding at third after Djokovic in first, and Federer second.
- Roger Federer will be searching for his record ninth Wimbledon title
With the qualifiers for Wimbledon underway, and the tournament starting on Monday, July 1, 2019 and running until July 14, all eyes will be on the ATP’s big three, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal. Since 2003, only four players, Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and Andy Murray have won the singles title.

The reigning champion had a slight upset today at The Boodles in Stoke where he was defeated by Denis Shapovalov 7-6(3), 6-4 during an exhibition match. The world No.1 decided on only having one week of practice on grass courts prior to the Grand Slam. Djokovic is not only the favorite to be in final, but the favorite to win it all.
Novak states that winning Wimbledon was a “huge turning point” in his career, having come off an elbow injury and dropping in the ranks. He hasn’t slowed down since then, and will be looking for his fifth Wimbledon title.
Odds Rafael Nadal Reaches Wimbledon Final

Snubbed of the number two seeding at Wimbledon, Nadal is not happy with the seeding that recently came out prior to the tournament. Although Federer is the king of the grass courts, king of Wimbledon really, Nadal’s been ranked No. 2 in the world for some time, and deserved the better seeding.

Now he’ll either be in Federer’s half or Djokovic’s, which could actually be in his favor for making it to the finals, but out of the three powerhouses that are fully healthy for Wimbledon this year, Nadal is the least likely to make the finals.
Odds Roger Federer Reaches Wimbledon Final

Historically and statistically, Federer is the one to beat at Wimbledon. The Swiss has had quite the showing this year, he’s going to be 38 in August and is going into the tournament ranked second.
Although it’s caused conversation, Federer doesn’t seem to care all that much about the seeding and in terms of Novak and Rafa, that’s so far away.

He will also be entering the tournament coming off winning the title at the Halle Open, where the Roger Federer effect was in full swing and drew over 15,000 people. Don’t be surprised if Federer is in the finals.
