Odds as of June 29th from DraftKings

Frances Tiafoe vs Vasek Pospisil Prediction

Listed at such close odds, this match should be an interesting one. Not much to go off of as these two have never played against each other on tour. We do have one previous match to go, which was a challenger event back in 2017. Pospisil did capture that win in straight sets.

Tiafoe doesn’t have the best history in consistency when he’s shown signs of winning. For instance, the American won at Nottingham, and had a quarterfinal showing at the Queen’s Club Championship, to lose horribly in his first-round match at the Eastbourne International tournament leading up to Wimbledon.

Tiafoe did have a huge first round win as he upset Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. Pospisil won his opener in straight sets as well, but against a much lesser tough opponent.

Best Bet: Tiafoe 3-1 (+425)

Andreas Seppi vs Denis Kudla Prediction

Seppi and Kudla have face each other once before on tour back at the 2016 Australian Open where the Italian won in straight sets.

In his first round match Seppi found himself down a set to opponent Joao Sousa when he then won the next three straight to win the match. Kudla on the other hand is a qualifier, and had to win his three qualifying matches to earn a first round match. There he found himself up against 30th seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. He went two two sets to start, and had to win the next three to earn his spot in the second round.

That first round win has earned Kudla a -143 line heading into this match, and is the favorite against Seppi. Kudla made it to the round of 16 back in 2015, and has proven himself on grass, but I’m going to give Seppi the edge here.

Best Bet: Seppi (+116)

Jiri Vesely vs Marton Fucsovics Prediction

Despite not playing each other in a tour match, we do have two previous meetings we can go off of between these two. Their most recent match came in the qualifying rounds at the Qatar Open in 2020, where Fucsovic won in three sets. Vesely won their first meeting way back in 2015.

Vesely is coming off a very straightforward first round win, where he defeated opponent Yannick Hanfmann 6-1, 7-5, 7(7)-6(5). Whereas Fucsovic is coming off a big upset after coming back from losing the first set, to beat 19th seek Jannik Sinner 5-7, 6-3, 7-5, 6-3.

After the win he had it makes sense that Fucsovics is the favorite heading into tomorrow’s match. I do think this is a match that’s going to see more than three sets. I’d say look for Fucsovics to take the match and earn his spot in the next round, but don’t be surprised if Vesely steals a set.

Best Bet: Fucsovics 3-1 (+340)
