Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin Del Potro will engage the most interesting semifinal at Wimbledon this year as the Serbian looks for another final while the Argentinean tries to reach his first.

djokovic-wimbledonDel Potro beat 4th seeded David Ferrer 6-2, 6-4, 7-6, but there are some concerns about his health as 6-foot-6 right handed suffered a fall that make his left knee take a hard hit.  “Really painful,” Del Potro said. “I was scared.”

Del Potro hasn’t lost a single set at Wimbledon so far; Djokovic haven’t lost one either. The Serbian beat Tomas Berdych 7-6 (5), 6-4, 6-3 and reached his 13th consecutive semifinal.

“I don’t know how I managed to turn the second set around,” said six-time major champion Djokovic, who won Wimbledon in 2011. “I managed to step in and just tried to be a little bit more aggressive. That brought me a victory.”

Djokovic lead the series against Del Potro 8-3, but his height is considered a problem. “He’s very tall, so he uses that serve as a powerful weapon. And of course (the) forehand, that is his signature shot,” Djokovic said. “You know, it’s semifinals, so everything is open, on the table.”

Novak is 4-0 against Juan Martin in Grand Slam game, but last year Del Potro beat Djokovic for the Olympic Bronze medal at the All England Club; so, history tells us the game could go either way.

In the tennis odds,  Djokovic is -769 favorite in the moneyline; Del Potro’s upset pays +450.
