Two teams that look much-improved from last season meet on Tuesday night when the Atlanta Dream (3-2, 1-1 away, 3-2 ATS) visit the Los Angeles Sparks (2-3, 1-2 home, 3-2 ATS) at crypto.com Arena in LA at 7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET.
Both teams will be missing a starter. Brittney Griner (14.8 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 1.0 APG) is out for Atlanta with a knee injury while Rickea Jackson (10.5 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 2.0 APG) is out with a concussion on the LA side. Tuesday’s NBA odds give the Sparks a slight edge.
Atlanta Dream vs LA Sparks Odds
The Dream vs Sparks point spread ranges from Los Angeles -2.0 to -2.5. The best ATS option for Sparks bettors is -2.0 (-110) at either bet365. The best ATS option for Dream bettors is ATL +2.5 (-110) at BetMGM. On the moneyline, DraftKings has the longest odds on Atlanta winning straight-up (+120) while bet365 again has the best price on Los Angeles (-135).

The game total shows a wide range, from 162.0 to 163.5. Over bettors should take O 162.0 (-110) at Caesars or FanDuel. Under bettors should grab U 163.5 (-110) at BetMGM.
Griner also missed the Dream’s last game, a 79-55 demolition of the struggling Sun in Atlanta. Jackson has missed three in a row for the Sparks, who are 1-2 without last year’s fourth-overall pick in the lineup. LA ended a two-game losing streak last time out with a 91-78 victory over winless Chicago.
First-year Spark Kelsey Plum (24.8 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 5.6 APG) had a game-high 28 points. After playing second-fiddle to A’ja Wilson in Las Vegas for the better part of six years, Plum has thrived as the go-to player on the Sparks. The 30-year-old guard has scored at least 16 points in each of her first five games in LA while shooting 43.2% from three, while averaging a league-high 3.8 makes per game from beyond the arc.
The Dream are also getting huge contributions from their litany of newcomers this season. Three-fifths of Atlanta’s starting lineup – Griner, Brionna Jones (13.8 PPG, 11.6 RPG, 2.8 APG), and rookie Te-Hina Paopao (5.3 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 2.3 APG) – weren’t with the team last season.

Plum has the highest point total by a wide margin, sitting at 23.5 O/U, five more than any other player. On the Dream side, both Allisha Gray (19.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 4.8 APG) and Rhyne Howard (15.0 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 4.6 APG) have a total of 18.5 points O/U.
With Griner out, Brionna Jones (13.8 PPG, 11.6 RPG, 2.8 APG) is expected to feast on the glass for Atlanta. The 29-year-old, who sits second in the league in rebounding, has a total of 10.5 boards.
Atlanta Dream vs Los Angeles Sparks Picks & Prediction
- Dream moneyline (+120) at DraftKings
- Jones over 10.5 rebounds (+105) at Caesars
The Sparks, who finished last season with the single-worst record in the NBA (8-32), are clearly much better with Plum on the floor. But Atlanta, which went 15-25 last year and grabbed with eighth and final playoff berth, are also trending up with the likes of Jones and Griner on the roster. They should also see more out of 2022 Rookie of the Year Rhyne Howard, who’s shooting just 24% from beyond the arc this season after connecting at 36.1% or better in each of her first three seasons in the league.
I’m also going to target the over on Jones’ rebound total (10.5 O/U) at plus-money. The longtime Sun, who’s never averaged more than 8.2 RPG during her eight-year career, is thriving on the glass with Atlanta and will be called on even more so than usual with Griner out of the lineup.
