Created in 1928 as the Portsmouth Spartans, the team relocated in 1934 as the Detroit Lions, establishing pro football’s beloved Thanksgiving Day tradition. Ford Field

Ford Field is located in downtown Detroit, Michigan, seamlessly incorporating the historic Hudson’s warehouse into its concourse. The domed stadium seats approximately 65,000 spectators and utilizes FieldTurf CORE synthetic turf.

Because Ford Field is a completely enclosed fixed dome, outside Michigan blizzards and sub-freezing temperatures have zero impact on gameplay. The climate-controlled 70°F environment provides pristine conditions for high-powered passing attacks, kicking specialists, and maximum team speed.
