2020 Art Ross Trophy Odds
This one ended in a boardroom. Leon Draisaitl led the NHL in scoring when COVID-19 shut the season down, and the Art Ross was his once commissioner Gary Bettman declared the regular season over in May.
Draisaitl had pulled clear of teammate Connor McDavid late, leading the scoring race by 11 points when play stopped. McDavid opened the year as the favorite, even coming off a broken leg, but Draisaitl closed as a -900 lock.
Here’s how the 2020 race played out before the stoppage.
2020 Art Ross Trophy Odds (March 2)
| Player (Team) | Odds |
|---|---|
| Leon Draisaitl (Oilers) | -900 |
| Connor McDavid (Oilers) | +350 |
| David Pastrnak (Bruins) | +1600 |
| Artemi Panarin (Rangers) | +1600 |

- [December 2] McDavid took over the scoring lead but stayed at plus-money on average (+130), somewhat surprisingly.
- [November 1] Edmonton’s duo sat atop the board, with almost no gap between them (+250 vs +275).
- [October 23] The top two favorites were both Oilers: McDavid near even money (+140) and Draisaitl second at a distant +700.
- [October 11] Kucherov drifted from +280 to +300 while McDavid shortened from +280 to +250.
- [September 15] Despite coming back from a broken leg, Connor McDavid opened as the +280 favorite.
