- Books have released a prop bet for how many sellouts the Oakland Raiders will have in their final season before their move to Las Vegas
- The Raiders have only had three sellouts the past three seasons, and none of them have been games on American soil
- The addition of Antonio Brown & fans interest in watching the team one final time could provide a spike in attendance
It’s the last season for the Raiders in Oakland (for the third year in a row) and books have released odds on how many sellouts the team will have.
Oakland Raiders Attendance Prop
How Many Of Oaklands Home Games Will Be Sellouts? | Odds |
---|---|
Over 5.5 | -120 |
Under 5.5 | -120 |
*Odds taken 8/26/19
At first glance it seems like an automatic play to take the UNDER considering the Raiders have finished 29th, 30th and dead last in attendance the last three years – but not so fast. I think there is big upside in taking the OVER for two clear reasons.

Farewell Tour Should Spike Attendance
For all the posturing from fans that they won’t go and watch their team play once it’s been announced they are skipping town, it never turns out that way. Raider fans won’t be able to pass up a chance to see their team play at the coliseum in person one last time.
The misleading part of the numbers above is the sellouts were never in Oakland. Two came in Mexico City and the other in London. Good news is, the Raiders are the home team in Week 5 when they play the Chicago Bears at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London this season.
Year | Average Attendance | League Rank | Number of Sellouts |
---|---|---|---|
2018 | 57,919 | 29th | 1 |
2017 | 57,775 | 30th | 1 |
2016 | 54,584 | 32nd | 1 |
The team needs to find five additional sellouts to hit the over. Divisional home games against the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers should both be at capacity. Their estimated lowest draws all come late in the season, and I think at that point despite the Jaguars, Bengals and Titans in town, that fans will come out for the swan song.
Antonio Brown & Hard Knocks Raising Raiders Profile
While Jon Gruden was the headliner for the franchise last season, Antonio Brown’s arrival this off-season has ratcheted up interest tenfold.
He has been stealing headlines all off-season with everything from a nasty battle with frostbite to a lawsuit with the league over which helmet he can wear.

Hard Knocks has been a coming out party of sorts for the Raiders and Brown has been the star. For all the antics between the games it’s his superstar profile on the field that will put fans in seats. Brown has over 1,200 yards receiving in six straight seasons and will give fans an elite player to enjoy as they bid farewell.
Final Verdict
With a new superstar to sell and fans motivated to check out their team once last time before a move to Las Vegas, I think sellouts in six of the eight home games is more than doable. Bet the OVER and bet it confidently.
PICK: Over (-120)
