This page tracks the odds to make the NHL playoffs during the 2026-27 NHL season. The NHL postseason begins in April, as the top three teams in each division, plus four wildcard teams, will compete for hockey’s ultimate prize.

The Eastern Conference race has been shaken up by Florida’s return to health after Aleksander Barkov missed last season. The Panthers are again among the favorites to reach the playoffs. Meanwhile, Colorado leads the Western Conference, with Edmonton, Minnesota and Vegas also priced as strong favorites to make the playoffs.

Carolina leads the Eastern Conference at -850 to make the playoffs, an 89.5% implied probability before adjusting for the sportsbook margin. Florida follows at -480, with Tampa Bay (-390) and Washington (-330) next. Toronto (-115) and Ottawa (-113) face much tighter races for a place in the 2027 playoff field.

Colorado is the West’s strongest playoff favorite at -1600 after leading the NHL with 121 points last season. Edmonton (-770), Minnesota (-620), Vegas (-520) and Dallas (-410) follow. San Jose (-140) and Anaheim (-130) have much less room for error, while St. Louis (+168) leads the group priced at plus money to make the playoffs.
Playoff Odds Trends & Analysis
- Florida’s return: The Panthers are -480 to make the playoffs after finishing with 84 points and missing the field last season. Barkov’s return puts Florida back among the East’s strongest favorites.
- Conference Disparity: Last season’s lowest playoff point total was 98 in the East versus 90 in the West. The 2026-27 schedule expands from 82 to 84 games, giving teams two extra games to collect points.
- Coin Flips: Ottawa is -113 on both sides of its make/miss market, while Toronto sits at -115 to make and -111 to miss. Those are the closest two-sided prices on the board.
- Plus-Money Playoff Bets: Philadelphia (+122) and Columbus (+148) offer the shortest plus-money make prices in the East. St. Louis (+168) and Nashville (+200) fill that role in the West. A larger payout comes with a lower implied chance of reaching the postseason.
