With two newsworthy nights of WrestleMania 37 in the books, WWE now heads into its loaded WrestleMania Backlash show on Sunday, May 16th. Scores will be settled, championships will be fought for, and great matches are bound to be had.

Days before WrestleMania Backlash, let’s take a look at the favorites that are expected to emerge victorious at the event, according to the current betting odds.

Priest vs Miz

The Miz and John Morrison’s bad blood with Damian Priest should have ended at WrestleMania when Priest and Bad Bunny beat the former tag team champions in tag team action. Priest has been rocking and rolling in recent weeks, so the odds are accurate in depicting him as the heavy favorite to win here.

Miz and Morrison are likely headed for another split based on their recent dissension, hopefully clearing one (if not both) of them for a successful singles run.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Considering Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode have been the SmackDown Tag Team champions since January, it’s more a matter of when than if they’ll drop those twin titles to Rey and Dominik Mysterio. The father and son duo have the advantage in the odds at -300, but it would actually be better for The Dirty Dawgs to retain here.

That would not only keep Rey and Dominik in chase mode but also allow them to become champions at WWE’s next pay-per-view on Father’s Day. The story writes itself.

SmackDown Women’s Championship

Bianca Belair and Bayley are no strangers to one another, having feuded earlier this year on SmackDown. Even with the SmackDown Women’s Championship now added to the equation, the end result should be the same: Belair beating Bayley.

At -850 in the odds, Belair is heavily favored to win, and rightfully so. Bayley should merely be a stepping stone for Belair before she eventually rekindles her rivalry with Sasha Banks over the coveted title.

Raw Women’s Championship

Rhea Ripley is fresh off her Raw Women’s Championship victory at WrestleMania, but her reign is already in danger of ending thanks to this Triple Threat. Asuka is essentially a non-factor and is almost guaranteed to not get the belt back here, but Charlotte Flair trailing Ripley in the odds is interesting.

Needless to say, Ripley dropping the title so soon would be premature. Flair regaining the gold isn’t out of the question, but Ripley retaining is the ideal (and expected) outcome.

Universal Championship

This will mark Cesaro’s first-ever one-on-one shot for a world championship in WWE. He’s in the midst of the biggest push of his career at the moment, but that doesn’t necessarily mean WWE should pull the trigger on a title win for him at WrestleMania Backlash.

Cesaro is obviously the underdog here, and although there’s a small chance he captures the championship this weekend, the dominant Reigns holding onto the gold is much more likely.

WWE Championship

Bobby Lashley shocked the world when he defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, but Backlash will be a different story with Braun Strowman also involved. That said, there’s a very good chance that the only reason Strowman is in there is so he can eat the pinfall for whoever wins, and that should be Lashley.

Lashley is slightly favored at -300 to McIntyre’s +200. He’s the freshest face of the three and still has plenty more to do as WWE champion, making him the safe bet to win.
