  • The NASCAR Playoff Chase continues at Bristol with the Bass Pro Shops Night Race set to run on Saturday, September 17th, 2022
  • Several contenders include Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, and maybe even Chase Briscoe and Erik Jones
  • Below are the Bass Pro Shops Night Race betting trends and odds ahead of Saturday night.

NASCAR heads East to Bristol, Tennessee for race number 29 of the 2022 season. The Bristol Motor Speedway is a short 0.533-mile track characterized by high-bank turns of 26-30 degrees. Denny Hamlin and his Toyota are listed as the betting favorite. Can a Ford or even a Chevy nab the checkered flag?

This is a week after the Hollywood Casino 400, where Bubba Wallace outlasted the likes of Christopher Bell and Hamlin to end up in victory lane.

Here are the Bass Pro Shops Night Race odds.

Kyle Busch The Most Consistent Driver At Bristol

Yes, Kyle Busch has had the most consistent results at Bristol over the past three seasons. Now, past history is not always an indicator but he races well on the short track. Also, the soon to be Richard Childress Racing driver has eight wins on the Tennessee track. That leads all active drivers.

Now, Busch also stands fourthin the odds with Christopher Bell at Caesars (+800). Chase Elliott (+750) is listed at Caesars but Denny Hamlin is at just +550). The Caesars Sportsbook odds feature mostly similar numbers to Barstool this week.

Who wins the September 17th race at Bristol? Larson has led the most laps (15.8%) but Kyle Busch is right behind at 14.4. The M&M’s racing car is the only one with four top-five results in his past five appearances. Busch stands 13th in the playoff chase and needs a good result to get into the “Round Of 12”.

The Playoff Chase Continues

Sports bettors are a bit leery on Chase Elliott and even Kyle Larson in some places (+750) again compared to Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin this week. The Chevy drivers are both among the favorites with the NASCAR Cup Series odds. Remember, Toyota did win again last week and has Bell in the Round of 12 already and likely Hamlin. Does Bristol change much? Last year, Larson led the most laps en route to another win in his title run.

Last year featured a good deal of chaos in the first round of eliminations. Will this year in the Next-Gen be a repeat? Kansas produced double-digit cautions. The fear is Bristol may be a repeat with drivers chasing for points to lock in spots. Again, if any of the 15 drivers not named Bell win, they get in.

Bass Pro Shops Night Race Predictions & Picks

The weather expects to be serene on Saturday night with Mostly Clear skies and cooling temperatures.

Next-Gen racing has taught some lessons with the tires. Maybe NASCAR learned a few.

Finally, look at Kyle Larson for the pole at +600 or even Chase Elliott at +600. They may be worth a shot. Drivers like Hamlin, Bell, and even Briscoe or Tyler Reddick could be battling for this one.

Here are our best bets:

  • Top Pick: Kyle Busch to Win (+800 – Barstool)
  • Other Contenders: Kyle Larson (+750), Christopher Bell (+900), Erik Jones (+3300), Chase Briscoe (+4000)
