Thursday evening, the NHL best Boston Bruins host the Edmonton Oilers with the B’s 10-game winning streak on the line. They’ve lapped the league, as they’re 11 points better than the second-place squad (Hurricanes).
The Oilers are 25 points behind them, but it’s not as if they’re playing bad hockey. They hold down the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, having won three of their last four.
Boston has taken three of their last four matchups versus Edmonton, and are easily stream rolling towards the Presidents Trophy. Read on for Oilers vs Bruins analysis.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Analysis
The Edmonton Oilers have been something of an enigma this season, following their trip to the Western Conference Finals last year. Connor McDavid is still being Connor by putting up virtuoso numbers (54 goals, 10 more than 2nd-place David Pastrnak). McDavid also has 124 points, 28 more than his closest pursuer (teammate Leon Draisaitl).

They’ve won three of four to keep their grip on the first Wild Card spot, and are just four points back of tops in the Pacific. Before then, however, Oil Country had dropped six of eight affairs.
For the campaign, they’re tops in goals per contest, but 21st in goals against, which could be a problem against the second-highest-scoring club, Boston.
Edmonton has won their last four duels when they’re an underdog between +110 and +150. They’ve also taken five of six as a road underdog.
Boston Bruins Betting Analysis
It’s hard to come up with any more superlatives for the wagon that is the Boston Bruins. They’re an astonishing 49-8-5, with a ludicrous 26-2-3 home ice record. They’ve won 10 in a row, outscoring their opponents by 25 goals in the process.
Since they’re second in goals scored, first in goals allowed, and first on the penalty kill, it’s hard to find any holes for them. The only nitpicky one would be that their power play hasn’t been up to snuff since the start of last month, operating at a 13.5% clip, which is eighth worst in the league.
The Boston Bruins’ last week:
-Traded for Orlov & Hathaway
-Ullmark scored 1st ever Bruins goalie goal
-Ullmark made a franchise record 54 saves in win
-Swept tough road trip out west
-Traded for Bertuzzi
-Signed Pastrnak to an extension🤩

Despite that, just last Thursday the B’s became the fastest team in NHL history to rack up 100 points. They’re 15-3 in their last 18 when their opponent allows two goals or less in their previous battle.

Both teams have lit the lamp with ease this season, but in seven of the last eight meetings, the under has been the winning play, which is very surprising.
Oilers vs Bruins Pick & Prediction
It may not yield the most amount of money, but wagering on Boston to win outright obviously has been very profitable this year. Our model has this Oilers vs Bruins game going the home team’s way 3.9-3.1.
Oilers vs Bruins Same-Game Parlay Picks
Pick | Odds |
---|---|
Boston Bruins Moneyline | -175 |
Under 6.5 Goals | +105 |
PARLAY ODDS | +220 |
Boston will have come off a nice four-day break. Interestingly, the under is 5-0-1 in their last six playing on three of more days rest. It does seem risky on the outset, but giving the parlay a bit of extra juice would be selecting Boston to win, but take the under 6.5 goals. At least historically, that’s been the prudent maneuver.
Pick: Boston Bruins Moneyline (-175), Under 6.5 goals (+105)
