After failing to close in the Gotham, the Denver Nuggets (47-24, 17-18 away) now have to play the second half of a back-to-back against the 6th-seeded Brooklyn Nets (39-31, 19-13 home).
That makes five losses in six games for the Nuggets, who’s grip on the West’s top seed in the NBA Playoff Bracket is down to 3.5 games to both the Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies.
Brooklyn, meanwhile, was held under 100 points in their last game a loss to the Kings. They’ve lost two in a row, and have a slim 2-game lead on the Miami Heat, who sit seventh and in the play-in position.
Action gets underway Sunday (March 19) at 3:30pm ET from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. You can watch the game live on NBA League Pass.
Nuggets vs Nets Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Denver Nuggets | -2 (-110) | -130 | OFF |
Brooklyn Nets | +2 (-110) | +110 | OFF |
The NBA odds have hometown Nets as 2-point home’ dogs, and +110 on the moneyline. As they were last game, the Nuggets are -130 on the moneyline, with an implied win probability of 56.52%.
With Denver’s loss against the Knicks last game, they’ve dipped under .500 on the road (17-18). Only Sacramento and the Clippers are playing .500 or better road ball in the West.
At 19-13 at Barclays, the Nets are one of just two teams to have less than 20 home wins in the East’s top 10, along with the Atlanta Hawks.

Denver Betting Analysis
With a 12-point lead in the third quarter, Denver couldn’t keep the lead, eventually surrendering a 16-5 run to close out the quarter, before scoring just 19 points in the final frame to lose 116-110.
Nikola Jokic, once the favorite in the 2023 NBA MVP odds, led the way with 24 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, but did turn it over six times, while hitting just 1-for-5 from downtown.

Jamal Murray was the only other Nugget to crack 20+, dropping 25 with six assists, while also drilling 5-for-7 from distance.
While the Nuggets are shooting 49.9% from the field during this skid, they are scoring only 112.5 points per game, which would put them at a bottom-6 mark.
That wouldn’t be so much of a problem if they weren’t struggling defensively as well, giving up 118 points per game over the last six games. Teams are shooting 50.8% from the field, and 37.4% from downtown.
That being said, oddsmakers are still considering this a blip, as Denver still holds the 4th-best NBA Championship odds.
Brooklyn Betting Analysis
Getting bodied on the glass doesn’t always correlate to struggles, but for the Nets, it’s become a big problem.
BK dropped a 101-96 loss to Sacramento last game, failing to score any second-chance points, grab any offensive rebounds, and lose the rebounding battle 57-41, including 13-0 on the offensive glass. Brooklyn’s 40.3 rebounds per game is second-last in the NBA.
Mikal Bridges was the leading scorer, dropping 23 points, with four rebounds and two assists, while Nic Claxton had 14 points and 14 boards.

This will be the second time in seven days the Nets have played the Nuggets, beating them on the road 122-120, one of only six losses for Denver, who own the best home record in the league (30-6).
All five starters scored in double figures, led by Bridges with 25, while Spencer Dinwiddie had 15 points and 16 assists. Brooklyn withstood a monster Jokic night, as he went for 35 points, 20 rebounds and 11 assists.

Nuggets vs Nets Betting Prediction
This will be Denver’s 10th game playing on consecutive days, going 5-4-0 against the spread in the previous nine. They’ve been a bad bet of late, going just 1-6 ATS in their last seven.
Brooklyn hasn’t exactly benefitted from more days off, going 6-9-0 ATS with the rest advantage, though they are 6-0 ATS in their last six against teams with losing road records.
We got burned taking Denver to cover against the Knicks, but again, this is a legit contender against a team in transition in BK.
Don’t worry that the Nuggets are 0-3-1 ATS in the last four meetings in Brooklyn. They’re too good to drop another one.
Pick:Â
- Nuggets ML (-130); 1.5 units to win 1.16 units
- NBA Betting Record: 36-33-1 ATS, 1-2 ML, 7-0 o/u, 0-3 parlays; -8.19 units
