Perhaps fortunate to open their FIFA Club World Cup with a draw, Inter Miami looks to break into the winner’s circle when they battle Porto in the first ever matchup between the two sides.

Group A is still anyone’s to grab, as Day 1 matches all ended in draws leaving Miami, Porto, Palmeiras, and Al Ahly each with a single point.

This match goes Thursday at 3pm ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with TNT / TruTV and DAZN providing the broadcast coverage.

While there are heavy hitters throughout this tournament, there’s a touch of parity in Group A, with Palmerias’ +3300 odds the 11th best to take it all. Porto is two rungs down at +4000, with Miami down in 21st with +8000 odds.

Inter Miami vs Porto Picks & Predictions

  • Over 2.5 goals (-163)

It had to be considered a disappointing start for Miami, as they battled to a scoreless draw with Egyptian squad Al Ahly in the opener on their home field.

It was the first time in four games the MLS squad failed to find the back of the net, and have been prolific: netting at least three goals in four of the last six.

That doesn’t take away from the efforts of 38-year-old goalie Oscar Ustari, who starred for them, keeping them level with eight saves, none more brilliant that a stop on Trezeguet on a penalty kick before halftime.

However, that was the one game where the Herons were considered a favorite, and they enter these next two matches with both Porto and Palmerias as underdogs, and will likely need a win to lock down a top-2 spot in their group.

Porto can thank their goalie Claudio Ramos for keeping them out of the loss column, as he shined in a scoreless draw with Palmerias.

His stops in close on both Richard Rios and Mauricio in first-half stoppage were massive in New Jersey in their opener Sunday.

The Dragons will now get their first taste of competitive action against American competition, but they’ve struggled playing on neutral venues, with just one win in their last five competitive games, losing twice and drawing two others.

Even at age 37, Messi is the big draw for this match and should always be considered a factor when he’s on the pitch, especially against a Porto side that has lost eight of its 24 games in 2025.

Both teams failing to find the scoresheet is more the outlier of late: Miami has seen the 2.5-goal Over cash in nine of its last 10 games, while Porto has topped that total in four of its last six.

I’m banking on them getting offensive Thursday.
