The 299 DI baseball teams have been whittled down to the final two: the LSU Tigers and Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will meet in the 2025 College World Series final, a best-of-three affair at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
The College World Series odds favor LSU but the margin is fairly slim against the titans of the Sun Belt.
Coastal Carolina vs LSU College World Series Odds
LSU has opened as a -190 favorite to win the national championship (65.52% implied win probability), with Coastal Carolina at +150 (39.22% implied win probability). The total-game odds have yet to be released.

LSU has been among the CWS favorites all season. The Tigers were sitting at +750 back in February and started the 64-team tournament as a +625 bet. They came to Omaha as the +225 second-favorite to the Arkansas team they beat twice to win Bracket 2.
Coastal Carolina on the other hand was a massive +10000 longshot back in February and had only improved to +2800 when the tournament began. The Chanticleers were the +600 third-favorite when the final eight teams arrived in Nebraska.
Coastal Carolina ran through Bracket 1, going a perfect 3-0 with dominant wins over Arizona (7-4), Oregon State (6-2), and Louisville (11-3). They finished the first three rounds with a +15 run differential.
LSU was equally dominant in Bracket 2, beating Arkansas (4-1), UCLA (9-5), and Arkansas – the pre-tournament favorite – a second time in the semifinals (6-5). LSU’s second win over Arkansas on Wednesday night included a bottom-of-the-ninth comeback from 5-3 down.
Jared Jones delivered the walk-off single.
CCU vs LSU: Common Opponents
There wasn’t much overlap in the LSU and Coastal Carolina schedules this season, but they do have three common opponents from the regular season:
- Kansas State: CCU went 1-0 (8-3 win), LSU went 1-0 (8-5 win in 10 innings)
- Alabama: CCU went 0-1 (9-2), LSU went 2-1 (11-6 win, 4-3 win, 7-4 loss)
- Auburn: CCU went 2-0 (7-6, 4-1), LSU went 0-3 (8-4, 4-2, 3-2)

LSU vs Coastal Carolina CWS Schedule
Game 1 of the 2025 College World Series will take place on Saturday, June 21st, at 7:00 pm ET.
Game 2 will be on Sunday, June 22nd at 2:30 pm ET.

Coastal Carolina vs LSU Game 1 Odds
The odds for Game 1 are narrower than the odds for the series, as a whole. LSU is -166 to take Game 1 (62.41% implied win probability), with Coastal Carolina at +130 (43.48%).
The runline and game total have yet to be posted.
Both teams will have Thursday and Friday off, meaning arms should be well rested. Though it’s worth noting that LSU has played 18 innings since Monday, while CCU has played just nine.
Senior Riley Eikhoff (2.98 ERA, 67 Ks, 7 HR in 84.2 IP), who started the first game of the CWS for Coastal Carolina, is the likely starter for the Chanticleers in Game 1. Likewise, sophomore Kade Anderson (3.44 ERA, 170 Ks, 16 HR, in 110.0 IP), who pitched LSU to a 4-1 over Arkansas in the Tigers’ first game of the CWS, should get the ball on Saturday.
