The first week of the season isn’t even in the books yet and sportsbooks have already started posting odds for college football Week 2, which includes several rivalry games and heavyweight tilts. The biggest games on the schedule include the annual Cy-Hawk game between Iowa and Iowa State, this year hosted by the Cyclones in Ames, and Michigan vs Oklahoma in a Big Ten/SEC crossover.

Iowa State Favored Over Iowa in Cy-Hawk Game
The opening Iowa vs Iowa State odds favor the Cyclones at home in Ames, but the line is under a field goal, opening at Iowa State -2.5 at DraftKings.
Both teams scheduled cupcakes in Week 1. Iowa blew out DII Albany (34-7), while Iowa State routed DII South Dakota (55-7). Iowa State also played in Week 0 in Ireland, taking down Kansas State (24-21), covering as field-goal underdogs.
Iowa owns a big 47-24 edge in the all-time head-to-head, including winning six in a row from 2015 to 2021. The Cyclones have gotten the better of the rivalry in recent years, winning two of the last three, including a 20-19 nail-biter last year in Iowa City.
Michigan vs Oklahoma Odds Favor Sooners at Home
Arguably the biggest game on the Week 2 schedule is a Big Ten/SEC clash between the #14 Michigan Wolverines and #18 Oklahoma Sooners at Memorial Stadium in Norman.
Both teams cruised through Week 1 but neither covered the spread. Oklahoma took down Illinois State (35-3) at home as massive 40.5-point favorites. Michigan doubled-up on New Mexico (34-17) as 34.5-point chalk. The Sooners game stayed way under the 60.5 point total, while the Wolverines games squeaked over its 49.5 point O/U.
These schools haven’t met since 1976, when Michigan took a 14-6 defensive slugfest, also in Norman.
