Filling a stat sheet is a valuable trait for NBA players, and thanks to NBA double double props, it can become valuable for NBA bettors.
Top-rated sports betting apps and prediction markets allow you to wager on a player to hit double digits in at least two stat categories. This page will cover the ins and outs of the double-double prop market, and how and where to bet on double-double machines like Karl-Anthony Towns, Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama.
What is the Double-Double in Basketball?
A double-double is a player recording 10+ in any two positive stat categories, typically points, rebounds or assists, but other stats like blocks or steals can also complete the feat.
For example, if LeBron James has 10 points and 10 rebounds, that is a double-double. Same as if Cade Cunningham has 20 points and 10 assists. You just need to reach double digits in two categories.
These are measured by official NBA boxscores.
Double-Double vs Triple-Double
The triple-double has long been the standard for all-around players in the NBA, as it requires them to reach double digits in a third category. They are most often achieved through points, rebounds and assists, but again, blocks or steals can sometimes sneak in.
Players like James, Jokic and Luka Doncic have been great picks for NBA triple double props, as they rack up rebounds and assists on top of their points.
How NBA Double-Double Props Works
NBA double-double props are presented as a simple yes/no proposition. Either you pick the player to get a double-double or not. The odds on either side will depend on the player’s
Here’s an example of what that could look like:
Wembanyama averages a double-double, while Castle is a threat to get one, either through rebounds or assists, but is mostly a scorer and defender for the Spurs.
In the above scenario, you can pick Wembanyama to get a double-double, but now that you’ll need to bet $300 in order to win $100 (or $30 to win $10 for the more casual bettor).
Picking Castle to get a double-double, meanwhile, would more than double your money.
Whenever you’ve made your pick, tap it to add to your betslip then add your stake and confirm the bet or trade.
How to Bet Double-Double Props
While some players feel like an automatic double-double, there is an art to finding them on a nightly basis.
Focus on Rebounders
The most common double-double is points and rebounds, so you’re more likely to find success with a big man when making double-double prop bets.
In the 2025-26 season, 16 players averaged at least 10 rebounds per game, while just one averaged 10 or more assists. Amazingly, it was Jokic that led the league in both.
Check Minutes Projections
Double-doubles are counting stats, so you’re going to need a player who spends a significant amount of time on the court.
While it’s not at all unheard of to have bench players record a double-double, you’re much safer with a player who starts or plays at least 30 of the 48 minutes in a game.
Make sure to check out NBA starting lineups before placing your bets.
Study Opponent Rebounding Rate
The opponent matters, of course, so make sure to look at which teams allow the most offensive rebounds, as that provides extra opportunities not only for boards, but points.
On the other end, playing against a team that has other great rebounders could make getting to 10+ much more difficult.
Avoid Heavy Favorites in Parlays
Throwing a player like Jokic or Wembanyama to get a double-double in a parlay is an unnecessary risk that won’t add enough to your potential payout, so it’s best to just avoid it.
Remember, a double-double requires excelling in two stat categories, so the slightest of off nights can crumble your entire parlay.
NBA Double-Double Props FAQs
A double-double is when a player records double figures in two positive counting stats, such as points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks.
Five stat categories can count toward a double-double: points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns led the NBA in double-doubles in the 2025-26 season, with 56.
Any triple-double is also a double-double, as players need to reach double figures in three categories.
If the player has not recorded a double-double before getting hurt and leaving the game, your bet would lose. Certain injury protection promos could guard against injuries, depending on when they ocurred.
