Steelers vs Chargers SGP Leg #1 – Oronde Gadsden Is Legit

Here’s the thing: we have to bet on good players. I know that sounds like an obvious statement, but you’d be surprised at how many people try to thread the needle with stiffs in “good” matchups. It’s crazy, yet people do it every day.

Lucky for us, Oronde Gadsden is far from a stiff.

Here’s the thing with Gadsden tonight: he has a good matchup, so we’re definitely playing the matchup game. He’s going to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, who just gave up 140+ receiving yards to Tucker Kraft a couple of weeks ago. We’re talking about a team that has allowed 581 yards to tight ends on the season in just eight games.

Now those same Steelers will be tasked with stopping a freak athlete who can do whatever he wants out there. That means we’re in the double bonus here (freak athlete + good matchup). On top of that, we watered down his line, so we’re cooking with grease here. The man has gone for 68+ receiving yards in four straight games, but we only need him to get us 30. Feels easy.

We can’t waste a perfect Gadsden play, which means we need the perfect move to pair with him. This is our Sunday Night we are talking about here. We don’t have an infinite amount of these things. We need to be surgical.

Lucky for us, Keenan Allen still plays for the Chargers.

Here’s the thing with Keenan: we can’t take ceiling games for him anymore. There are just too many younger wide receivers in Los Angeles at this point. But that doesn’t mean we have to ignore him completely. We can always just play the floor game with Allen. The man has posted a 30-burger in every game this season except one. In that game, he went for 27. We’re good.

Tonight, we’ll get a little help from the Steelers since they boast the worst pass defense in the NFL this season. Just last week, they allowed 115 receiving yards to two different guys. On top of that, another guy dropped a 50-burger on them. Translation. Keenan is going for at least 30 tonight. We’re all going to be rich after this!
