Tuesday night’s MACtion features two teams, Ohio (6-3; 5-3-1 ATS) and Western Michigan (5-4; 6-3 ATS), in the hunt for the conference title—the potential for snow and cold—what more could you want?

This will be the 67th meeting in the series. Western Michigan leads the series 33-32 with one tie. There is a chance of snow showers with temperatures in Kalamazoo in the lower 30s. Football weather!

Ohio vs Western Michigan Prediction

• Pick: Western Michigan +1.5 (-120 at BetMGM)
• Pick: Under 46.5 (-105 at BetMGM)

The entire Western Michigan community remains in mourning after the shocking death of Dallas Cowboys second-year defensive end Marshawn Kneeland. He starred at WMU from 2019 to 2023 before being drafted by the Cowboys in the second round in 2024.

Western Michigan last played Nov. 1, coming back to beat Central Michigan 24-21 and winning the Michigan MAC trophy in the process (there is a separate trophy for the round-robin between the three MAC schools in Michigan…college football is the best).

I’m taking the Broncos to cover at home and the under, especially if the weather is cold and damp in this Ohio vs Western Michigan prediction. They have the second-best scoring defense in the MAC, allowing 19 points a game.

Defensive end Nadame Tucker, who is 25 years old (yes, he’s transferred around), leads the MAC with 9.5 sacks, which is also sixth in the nation.

Western Michigan QB Broc Lowry has run for 591 yards, seventh-best in the MAC. Another good reason to go with the Broncos, who don’t throw the ball as well as Ohio.

Bobcats quarterback Parker Navarro started his college career at Central Florida but has made a home in Ohio for the last three seasons. This year, he’s third in the MAC with 1,987 yards and 12 touchdowns.

His No. 1 receiver is Chase Hendricks, who leads the MAC with 60 catches for 845 yards and six touchdowns. He’s become the Bobcats’ big playmaker this season, after just 40 grabs a year ago.

The Ohio ground game is paced by senior Sieh Bangura, who tops the MAC with 830 yards.

Some weeks, the MACtion games are fun but don’t have a lot at stake. This one does. There’s a four-way tie on top of the conference with these two, Miami of Ohio and Buffalo. The loser is probably out of the running for the MAC title.

The Ohio vs WMU line has wobbled slightly from 2.5 points in favor of the Bobcats to 1.5. It’s 1 point at Fanatics. The total was 47.5 early in the week, but it’s starting to drop (weather reasons). Both teams are 4-5 against the total.

The Bobcats are 5-3-1 against the spread, while Western Michigan is 6-3. The Broncos are 4-1 at home this season.
