Top NBA Picks Wednesday

With 12 games on the NBA schedule for tonight, there are plenty of player props to look into for the game. Here is a look at our favorite plays, along with some analysis on the logic:

Kon Knueppel Higher Than 17.5 Points: 1.03x payout

This is a number that Knueppel has gone over in four straight games, but remains a solid look to go over once again tonight. The thing with this play is that LaMelo Ball is still out, and he has been out for four games in a row, which just so happens to coincide with the four straight games in which Knueppel has gone over. In those four games, he is averaging 16.8 FGA per game, up from 9.8 in games with LaMelo in the game and has taken: 17, 16, 23 and 11 shots. The 11 shots is low, but he did get to the line 5 times. So, while his usage rate was the lowest in that game than the other three, not to a super concerning degree.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. Higher Than 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists: 1.00x payout

This is another play in which we are taking advantage of an injury absence, this time with Bam Adebayo out for the Heat. Adebayo has missed three straight games, and in those three games Jaquez Jr. has a combined 35, 33 and 42 PRAs, easily clearing this over. This last game against the Cavs is the game he had 42, granted that game went into overtime, but he still went over by a mile and is set up to do so again tonight.

Jaylen Brown Over 7.5 1st Q Points: 0.83x payout

Brown missed this prop yesterday, in what was a rough first quarter where he went 0/5 from the field. This is a great spot to expect a quick bounce-back for Brown, especially in a juicy matchup against one of the worst defenses in the NBA in the Grizzlies. They allow the fifth-most points per game to pick-and-roll ball handlers, and the sixth-most points in the paint, two ways in which Brown loves to score. Even if we go deeper than that they allow the 9th-most points per game via above-the-break 3-pointers, which accounts for another 25% of Browns points. The Grizzlies also play at the fourth-fastest pace, leading to their games being track meets.
