  • The Blues are a -122 moneyline favorite over the Blackhawks on Friday, Dec. 12th
  • St. Louis has won eleven of 14 contests against their Central Division rivals

The puck drops Friday night in a battle between two teams currently outside the playoff picture in the Western Conference. The timing couldn’t be better with Missouri sports betting apps now live.

Chicago (13-11-6, 23-7 ATS) squares off against St. Louis (11-14-7, 15-17 ATS), with both squads battling to get back into the thick of things in the West. Chicago finds itself just a single point out of the final Wild Card spot, while the Blues are four points back.

Action is set to get underway at 8:00 pm ET / 7 pm CT from Enterprise Center from St. Louis, Missouri, with ESPN+ and Hulu providing the coverage in the United States.

Blackhawks vs Blues Prediction

  • Over 5.5 goals (-130 at Underdog Sportsbook ),
  • Blackhawks +1.5 (-228 at Underdog Sportsbook)

My Blackhawks vs Blues prediction is that there will be goals aplenty being scored, and that the underdog Blackhawks will cover the spread (an incredible 23-7 ATS this season).

The Blues are home favorites, though their odds went from -150 overnight to -122 Friday morning. Neither team is among the favorites in the Stanley Cup Odds, with St. Louis sitting at +15000 and Chicago +50000.

In eight of the last ten meetings between these two squads, at least six combined goals have been scored. That benchmark has also been hit in six of the last eight duels this season for Chicago, and four of the last five for St. Louis.

If Spencer Knight starts, as expected, it’ll be tough for the home team, as he has a 2.50 GAA and .916 save %. It’s likely Joel Hofer between the pipes for the Blues, considering Jordan Binnington started last night and was pulled after allowing six goals, and it’s a back-to-back situation. Hofer has a 3.18 GAA and .890 save %, compared to his running mate’s 3.49 GAA and .869 save %.

It’d be bad news for Blues fans if our SBD model is correct. It has the Hawks pulling off the upset 3.67-3.17, which points to over 5.5 goals being scored in the Blackhawks vs Blues contest and the road squad covering the spread.

Chicago has thus far outperformed most prognosticators this season, who expected another wretched season. They’ve been solid, if unspectacular, and the special teams units have them competitive. The Blues are in a world of hurt, failing to light the lamp much, but also allowing far too many snipes as well as they’re desperately needing a turnaround.

Blackhawks vs Blues Prop Picks

For a prop bet, I’m going with the Blues leading scorer in Robert Thomas to record a point at -174. He has 21 points on the campaign, picking up at least one in five of his last six contests. He’s also found the scoresheet at least once in seven of his last nine duels versus the Blackhawks.

If you want to parlay the over 5.5 goals total coming to fruition, the Hawks to cover the spread, along with Robert Thomas to register a point, that payout is +262 on FanDuel.

We should also mention that there is a great value boost from Caesars Missouri. They are offering the Blues Win & Dylan Holloway Goal at combined odds of +425. If you are picking St. Louis tonight, you should consider this play. Holloway scored in the first meeting vs. Chicago and has fired at least 3 shots in 3 straight games.
