Two AFC squads square off Sunday evening in a Wild Card affair, with the 11-6 Los Angeles Chargers battling the 14-3 New England Patriots (8:15 pm ET/5:15 PT). LA has come out on top in each of the last two years vs New England, but this is the first time they’re meeting this season. The NFL playoff bracket shows New England as the #2 seed and Los Angeles #7.
The table below sets out two players that I think will record a touchdown along with NFL player props for this Wild Card skirmish. Under the table, find my top Chargers vs Patriots vs touchdown-scorer picks and a player prop to hone in on for this fantastic clash.
Chargers vs Patriots Touchdown Scorer Props
In the Chargers vs Patriots touchdown-scorer props, TreVeyon Henderson has the shortest odds to record a TD at +120. The player most likely to get on the board for Los Angeles is Omarion Hampton at +185. In the Super Bowl odds, the Pats are the fifth choice at +1000, while the Bolts are +3300 to raise the Lombardi Trophy.

Chargers vs Patriots TD-Scorer Pick #1: Rhamondre Stevenson (+145 at Fanatics)
For my first player to find the end zone I’m selecting Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who has slightly longer odds to record a TD than his counterpart TreVeyon Henderson. Stevenson has found pay dirt a whopping six times in the last three contests, compared to just three occasions in the first eleven outings.
His running mate Henderson hasn’t found the end zone in four of the last six duels, (though he has four touchdowns in the two games he’s put up TD’s), and I like the value on Stevenson just a bit more.
LA has surrendered 16 rushing touchdowns on the campaign, which is smack dab in the middle of league rankings, so it’s not as if Stevenson is up against a run D juggernaut in his attempt to score.
LAC vs NE Touchdown-Scorer Pick #2: Quentin Johnston (+250 at BetRivers)
For my next selection, I’ve decided to go with the player who had the most receiving TD’s of either squad in the regular season, Quentin Johnston (8). He has longer odds than the top five players on the board, which is intriguing. He can be very enigmatic at times, but Johnston has found the end zone in two of his last four skirmishes.
QJ has saved his two highest output games of the year for the last two battles, posting a total of nine catches on 13 targets for 202 yards and a TD. He and QB Justin Herbert have been on the same page recently, so I’m banking on that continuing.
Chargers vs Patriots Prop Pick: Hunter Henry Over 41.5 Receiving Yards (-114 at DraftKings)
I’m going with Patriots tight end Hunter Henry to exact some revenge on his old team in this clash. His line is set at 41.5 receiving yards, and he’s gone over that total five times in the last seven occasions suiting up. In that span, he’s also hauled in three touchdowns.
His quarterback Drake Maye was fourth in the NFL with 4,394 passing yards, which should aid in Henry’s chances of blowing over the total. In the last three outings, Henry has been a huge safety valve for Maye, catching all but one of his last 15 targets (14 receptions for 140 yards and two TD’s).
