Massachusetts Sets New Sports Betting Revenue Record

• Another month, another new Massachusetts sports betting revenue record
• The Massachusetts Gaming Commission reported $98.4 million in taxable gaming revenue
• It broke the previous record set in November

Another month, another Massachusetts sports betting revenue record.

Just one month after setting an all-time revenue mark in the commonwealth, Massachusetts set a new monthly revenue record of $98.4 million in December. This led to nearly $20 million in total tax revenues for the month.

Massachusetts sports betting customers wagered more than $845.2 million for the month.

Revenue Up, Handle Down in December

While the state set a new revenue record for December, total handle actually decreased by nearly $69 million compared with November’s $914.6 million sports betting handle total.

Both handle and revenue totals increased in December 2025 when compared with its December 2024 totals. The December 2025 handle total of $845.2 million was an increase of 7.2% compared with the December 2024 handle total of $788,340,995. Additionally, the December 2025 revenue total of $98.4 million was an increase of more than 71% compared with the December 2024 revenue total of $57,512,913.

The commonwealth brought in $19,627,172 in tax revenue for the month.

Over the last three months, Massachusetts sports betting patrons have placed $2,652,119,532 in wagers.

DraftKings Yet Again Tops in State

DraftKings notched another dominant month in Massachusetts, reporting more than $447.53 million in total handle and $53.4 million in taxable gaming revenues. Its totals doubled the closest operator, FanDuel, which reported $202.2 million in handle and $25.58 million in taxable revenues.

Fanatics Sportsbook maintained its spot on the Massachusetts pedestal, notching $79.1 million in total handle and $8.2 million in taxable gaming revenue for the month.

theScore Bet, formerly ESPN BET, reported $24.09 million in handle and $2.3 million in taxable gaming revenue during its first month of operation in Massachusetts. ESPN BET rebranded to theScore Bet on Dec. 1, 2025.
