The Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson fight is being tagged as a battle between Newark and Brooklyn. It seems poetic that the bout is to be held at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. One could argue that this is neutral ground, but Lopez has fought at MSG a ton. Now, Stevenson has fought several times there as well.
Stevenson is a pretty significant favorite on the moneyline, now at -300. There is less incentive to bet that way than to consider other options. Thankfully, the props market has a few bets I consider a little better than the rest.

As you can see, the numbers keep tilting toward Shakur Stevenson. It appears too difficult to make a bold prediction here, but as far as a knockout, this might tip toward Lopez by knockout. He possesses a little more firepower at this weight. That is the perception, anyway.
The public fawns over a fighter like Stevenson, and rightfully so. Online sportsbooks have seen Stevenson’s numbers improve ever so slightly. He was -325 via BetMGM a few days ago on the moneyline. That has backed off to -300 at DraftKings.
Lopez vs Stevenson Total Rounds Props
My favorite bet of the fight, as Brady Trettenero wrote about earlier in the week, is the win by decision. I have little doubt that this fight goes the distance. Apparently, the books agree, as the fight to go 11 or 12 rounds is probably at its highest level heading into tonight’s fight.
I would never suggest that boxing has predestined results, but this fight aims toward a decision with laser-like precision. Lopez, by nature, is a counter-puncher. His power is probably more intense, but Stevenson showed in the William Zepeda fight that he can take a punch. Stevenson probably could have fought a little better tactically, but he is one of the best defensively pound-for-pound.
I believe the Over is winning out here with ease. At that 88.89% implied probability, that is one way to go. Currently, the decision is now -600 (85.71%), which has continued to fan out to few people’s surprise.
You can also make the argument that a unanimous decision is a solid bet. Shakur Stevenson at -160 carries a little weight once one boards the decision boat. If one does not trust that, there is always the unanimous decision for either fighter at -240.
More Lopez vs Stevenson Bets
Seven of Stevenson’s last 10 fights have been decided by decision – unanimous to be precise. There is a betting option for the under of 1.5 knockdowns and the Stevenson victory. Again, the defense of the three-time champion from Newark, New Jersey is well documented. Shakur Stevenson can have some lackluster fights. This is very true. Can Teofimo Lopez keep initiating the action enough to hurt Stevenson?
Honestly, Lopez’s best chance of a win is a late knockout. A KO for the Brooklyn fighter is rolling in at +2000, while a TKO is a more than respectable +1200. The chances of a Lopez decision appear to be getting smaller by the hour. A knockout in Rounds 10-12 stands at +2000 for Lopez, equaling his knockout number as an exact result.
Do not forget that DAZN PPV carries the fight, and the two pugilists should get in the ring just after 11:00 pm ET. One last possible wager if one likes Lopez to shock the Southpaw is that it would take 2+ knockdowns to knock out the undefeated Stevenson (+2200 via DraftKings). The hope is for a competitive and compelling fight. Let’s get it on!
