The Gonzaga Bulldogs (31-3) needed to sweat it out a bit in Round 1 of the NCAA Tournament. Their opponent in the Round of 32, the 11th-seeded Texas Longhorns (20-14) have been living in that space all week.

The two teams clash in the Round of 32, of the West Region, with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line, and the Longhorns will enter as an underdog in the college basketball odds a third straight time.

Action gets underway Saturday night at 7:10pm ET from from the Moda Center in Portland, OR, with truTV and TBS carrying the broadcast coverage.

Texas vs Gonzaga Pick

  • Pick: Under 147.5 points (-110 at bet365)

Texas has been living on the edge since opening the First Four with a win over the NC State Wolfpack, needing a late Tramon Mark jumper to win 68-66.

They followed that up with a 79-71 triumph over the 6th-seeded BYU Cougars, needing to withstand a 35-point, 10-rebound performance from freshman phenom AJ Dybantsa, the current frontrunner in the 2026 NBA Draft odds.

The ‘Horns have leaned into a highly efficient interior game, powered by center Matas Vokietaitis, who is putting up 19.0 points and 12.0 rebounds over two games on a hefty 34.06% usage rate.

Texas is inside the Top 40 in scoring, but their strength so far has been controlling the tempo through the post and limiting extra possessions. They rank ninth nationally in defensive rebounding, so they have the interior work to keep the matchup tight vs the 12th-ranked team in the nation.

The ‘Zags had problems landing the plane against 14th-seeded Kennesaw State, up just five points with three minutes to play, before taking it 73-64.

The West Coast Conference Champions, Gonzaga has now played in three relatively close, relatively low-scoring games in row, beating Santa Clara 79-68 in the final of the WCC Tournament, and dropping Oregon State 65-56 the game prior.

On the season, the Bulldogs ranked ninth in the nation in scoring at 84.8 points per game, and shot it at a 50.7% clip, a form they have yet to come close to since the end of the regular season.

Defensively, they have the ability to keep the Longhorns at bay, holding teams to 65.9 points per game, a Top-40 mark in the nation, while holding teams to a paltry 39.4% shooting from the floor. They’ve also cashed the Under in seven straight games dating back to Feb 18.

Add that all up, and this has the chance to be a rockfight in Portland.

Texas vs Gonzaga Props

  • Pick: Vokietaitis Over 7.5 rebounds (-130 at bet365)

Matas Vokietaitis has already pulled down 24 total rebounds across his first two playoff starts. More impressively, he averages 6.5 offensive rebounds per game, giving his squad critical second-chance opportunities.

Gonzaga isn’t overly big, as Graham Ike at 6-foot-9 is the tallest of all the starters that would contend with the 7-footer. Ismaila Diagne, Gonzaga’s only 7-footer that played last game, logged just two minutes.

Expect him to clear his rebounding total with ease.

Pick: Ike Under 21.5 points (-112 at bet365)

Graham Ike finished with 19 against Kennesaw State, right around his season average of 19.5 points, and he’s shooting it at a hot 56.9% on the season.

The books might have overshot his 21.5-point scoring line on Saturday as well. Ike has only scored 22+ points in two of his last nine games.
