Edmonton (34-28-9, 77 points) has won all four meetings against Utah dating to last season, outscoring the Mammoth 21-8. But the Oilers have dropped two straight and are turning to Tristan Jarry in net Tuesday, a goalie who hasn’t started since a 7-2 loss to Dallas on March 12.
Utah (37-28-6, 80 points) holds the first wildcard spot in the NHL Playoff Bracket and has won three of four. Nick Schmaltz scored twice in Sunday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.
Puck drop is set for 9:30 pm ET from Delta Center in Salt Lake City. My Oilers vs Mammoth prediction, props and NHL odds are below.
Oilers vs Mammoth Prediction
- Mammoth ML (-128 at FanDuel)

The H2H favors Edmonton, but the situational numbers don’t. The Oilers are 1-5 in their last 6 against teams with a winning record and 1-5 in their last 6 road games against teams with a winning home record. Utah is 5-1 in their last 6 against Pacific Division opponents.
The gap in net is the story. Vejmelka carries a 2.68 GAA and .898 save percentage across 52 starts. Jarry has a 3.37 GAA and .882 save percentage, and he’s allowed four or more goals in six straight starts with a 5.47 GAA in that stretch.
Oilers vs Mammoth Key Stats
Edmonton’s power play is the best in the NHL at 31.0%, but their .875 save percentage is dead last. Utah allows just 2.79 goals per game (6th) and 26.07 shots against (5th).
The Mammoth are built to grind teams down at even strength, and that’s where Edmonton is most vulnerable without Draisaitl. My Oilers vs Mammoth prediction is on Utah at home at -128.
Oilers vs Mammoth Props
Two Utah props for my Oilers vs Mammoth picks tonight.
- Nick Schmaltz Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+122 at FanDuel)
Schmaltz has cleared 2.5 shots in 4 straight home games, averaging 5.0 per game at Delta Center in that stretch. He’s also 5-for-5 clearing this mark when Utah is a favorite.
The 28-year-old scored twice on Sunday and should be aggressive again Tuesday.
- Mikhail Sergachev Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-137 at Caesars)

Sergachev has cleared 1.5 shots in 13 straight home games against bottom-10 scoring defenses, averaging 2.69 per game. Edmonton ranks 31st in save percentage and 28th in goals against.
The juice is steep, but a 100% hit rate over 13 games earns the investment. That rounds out my Oilers vs Mammoth props.
Oilers vs Mammoth Betting Lines
Odds as of Mar. 24. The bet365 bonus code has a sign-up offer for bettors looking to wager on Tuesday’s Oilers vs Mammoth odds.
Utah’s -128 moneyline at FanDuel translates to roughly a 56% implied probability. Edmonton’s best price is +115 at bet365.
The puck line has the Oilers at +1.5 (-218) and the Mammoth at -1.5 (+184). The total sits at 6.5 with the over at -120 at bet365.
Oilers vs Mammoth Starting Goalies
Puck drop is set for 9:30 pm ET / 7:30 pm MT from Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
Tristan Jarry is confirmed for Edmonton in his first start since March 12, when he allowed seven goals on 27 shots in a 7-2 loss to Dallas. The 30-year-old has allowed four or more goals in six consecutive starts (2-4-0) with a 5.47 GAA and .828 save percentage in that stretch.
Karel Vejmelka is the expected starter for Utah. The 29-year-old is riding a two-game winning streak with a 1.47 GAA and .953 save percentage over those starts. He shut out Vegas last Wednesday and stopped 33 of 36 shots in Sunday’s OT win over LA.
Oilers vs Mammoth Goalie Stats
Edmonton will again be without Draisaitl (lower body), Trent Frederic (undisclosed), Mattias Janmark (out for season), Colton Dach (undisclosed) and Curtis Lazar (undisclosed).
Utah’s only concern is Nate Schmidt (illness), who is questionable.
