- #1 UConn is a 27.5-point favorite over #6 Notre Dame in the Elite Eight at the NCAAW Tournament

According to online sportsbooks, it’s not a question of if defending-champion UConn is going to beat Notre Dame today, it’s a matter of how bad a blowout is it going to be. The #1 seed Huskies enter action this afternoon as massive 27.5-point favorites over the #6 seed Irish, looking to run their undefeated record to 38 and 0.
Personally, I can’t wrap my head around laying that many points, but at the same time, it’s hard to make a compelling argument to bet against UConn. What I am most confident in is the Huskies defense, which is leading me to seek out alternative betting markets.
Below, you’ll find the latest Notre Dame vs UConn odds, plus my favorite picks, and how to watch this Fort Worth Regional Elite Eight showdown.
Notre Dame vs UConn Odds
As of Sunday morning, the best place to bet the moneyline, spread or total varies depending on what side you’re on. If you want to back the Huskies against the spread or either side of the total, you need to visit Kalshi. They’re offering UConn at the equivalent of +104 odds to cover 27.5 points, while their game total is 2 points higher than the rest of the market.
If you want to swing for the fences and bet Notre Dame to shock the basketball world visit DraftKings. DK’s +4000 price on an Irish upset is the best in market, and dwarfs the prediction markets +3300 offering.

I mentioned finding value in alternate markets, and my favorite wager for this contest is going to be under 56.5 points for Notre Dame. I realize it might be uncomfortable to fade Hannah Hidalgo, but this Huskies defense operates on an entirely different level than the ones Hidalgo has feasted on so far during March Madness.
The junior is fresh off just the second ever 30-point triple-double in the history of the NCAA Women’s Tournament, posting 31 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals in the Irish’s upset win over Vanderbilt. Hidalgo now owns the record for most steals in a single NCAA tourney, and has Notre Dame in its first Elite Eight under Niele Ivey.
At this point, they’re playing with house money as a #6 seed, but good luck trying to penetrate this UConn defense.
Notre Dame vs UConn Stats
The Huskies boast the highest defensive rating in the nation, and also lead the country in opponent field goal percentage and steals, while forcing turnovers at the second highest rate. They’ve held their first three opponents to 28%, 33% and 41% from the field, keeping all three teams below 53 points.
In fact, UConn has held nine straight opponents below 53 points, and has only surrendered 57+ points in six of 37 games this season. That includes an 85-47 victory over the Irish earlier this season, in which they held Hidalgo to 16 points on 5-of-15 shooting.
That was one of Hidalgo’s worst games of the season, but she was far from the only Notre Dame player to struggle. The Irish shot just 1-of-16 from three, committed 15 turnovers and grabbed only two offensive boards. They generated just 12 turnovers of their own which they converted into only 4 points.
History isn’t guaranteed to repeat itself this afternoon, but you can’t ignore just how miserable UConn’s defense makes the lives of its opponents. They contest every shot, they don’t permit offensive boards or second chance opportunities, and they turn the enemy over at an absurd rate. Add it all up, and you’ll have the 32nd game where an opponent fails to reach 57 points against them.
