The Atlanta Hawks got the all-important split on the road in New York, and now return home for a crucial Game 3 against the New York Knicks in their best-of-7 opening round series.

The NBA odds have this as close to a pick’em as it can get, as they’ve been close battles going down to the wire.

As we look at the Knicks vs Hawks player props, it’s the smallest guys on the court for both sides — CJ McCollum for Atlanta and Jalen Brunson for the Knicks, who have been the offensive hubs for their respective squads.

Knicks vs Hawks Prop Bet #1: CJ McCollum 3-point Makes

Pick 1: McCollum OVER 2.5 3-point makes (-130 at bet365)

The veteran guard best known for being Dame’s sidekick in Portland has found some new life since journeying around New Orleans and Washington before getting rejuvenated in Atlanta.

He’s been especially deadly from distance of late, hitting at least three 3-pointers in a game in four of his last five, including three moneyballs in Game 2, as part of a 32-point night to steal a 107-106 game in Gotham.

McCollum is dictating offense for the Hawks, and with a team of so many young and fresh faces, they seem to turn to him when they need a big bucket.

He’s gone 7-for-19 from deep in this series, a 36.8% clip, and he should be just as potent coming home for Game 3.

NY Knicks vs ATL Hawks Prop Bet #2: Jalen Brunson Points

Pick 2: Jalen Brunson Over 25.5 points (-110 at bet365)

Like McCollum, Jalen Brunson has led his team in scoring in this series, but unlike CJ, it’s been a slog.

Brunson is shooting a rough 39.6% from the floor through two games, a far cry from the 46.7% clip he logged during the regular season.

Atlanta’s game plan is to simply make him work, and at the end of a long regular season, dimunutive guards do tend to wear down.

For New York, though, there aren’t very many alternatives. The Knicks are a Brunson-first offense, and after Karl-Anthony Towns, it’s a musical chairs of who else can contribute. If Brunson doesn’t, though, the game is over.

Expect more volume — he’s taken 48 shots through two games — and more points for the star guard.
