bet365 Alberta will soon be live in its second Canadian province.
The gaming operator, listed as Hillside (Technology) Limited, has been approved by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) for both iGaming and online sports betting in the province.
Alberta will be bet365’s second Canadian province of operation.
Sports Betting, iGaming Regulators Taking Shape
bet365 appeared on the AGLC’s most recently updated list of approved regulators. The number of approved Alberta sports betting apps is now up to 31 on the AGLC’s official list of sanctioned operators.
The sports betting and iGaming operator will likely be ready to go when Alberta launches its regulated online sports betting and iGaming market on Monday, July 13.
Dale Nally, Alberta Minster of Service and Red Tape Reduction, recently publicly confirmed the start date during a fireside chat at SBC Summit Canada. Nally confirmed the start date a number of times during a session at SBC Summit Canada in Toronto. Andrew McCarron, managing direct of SBC, moderated the fireside chat with Alberta’s Minister of Service and Red Tape Reduction.
In late March, the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission unveiled several key dates for regulated, provincial sports betting, setting July 13, 2026, as a cutoff date for gray operators to cease unregulated sports betting activity.
The AGLC revealed that any interested sports betting operator will have to submit a completed application and pay all application registration fees to the commission no later than July 13, 2026, to be considered for a license.
If an operator cannot meet the July 13 submission date, the AGLC may consider a maximum of three months extension date to Oct. 13, 2026, on a case-by-case basis, only when an operator can demonstration a path to compliance was unattainable prior to July 13, 2026.
