If you blinked on Tuesday, you missed a trade or four. The league hit the gas ahead of Friday’s draft in Buffalo, and it was really just an encore to Brady Tkachuk landing in Florida on Sunday night.
Most of the action was about draft picks and rebuilds, not contenders loading up. So the question for bettors is simple: did any of it actually move the 2027 Stanley Cup odds?
For a couple teams, yes. For most, not really. Here’s the full FanDuel board, the winners and losers, and where Kalshi landed.

The Panthers climbed to co-favorite at +700 after the Tkachuk splash, level with Carolina, who slid back from +650. Colorado sits just behind at +750.
None of Tuesday’s trade teams come anywhere near the top. The highest of them is Ottawa at +2200, still buried in longshot territory.

Tuesday’s Trades: Winners and Losers
Washington was the day’s big winner. The Capitals finally landed the top-six scorer they’d chased for two years, grabbing Jordan Kyrou from St. Louis for Connor McMichael, a prospect, and the No. 16 pick. Kyrou had 18 goals and 46 points last season, and the market loved it, shortening the Caps from around +4500 to +3000.
St. Louis did well too, landing four first-rounders and a young center that nudged the Blues in from +10000 to +8000.
Buffalo cashed in too, flipping a Bowen Byram rental into the No. 4 pick and clearing cap room while hosting the draft this weekend, with its number barely budging at +3000. Chicago is the loser there, paying a top-five pick for a defenseman with one year left and no selection until No. 34, and its +10000 didn’t move an inch.
Ottawa just kept wheeling. A night after dealing Tkachuk for a pile of picks, the Sens flipped the No. 9 they got from Florida into William Eklund, a 23-year-old with 53 points who slots next to Tim Stutzle.
Credit Steve Staios for turning his traded captain into a cost-controlled forward in 48 hours. Ottawa had already slid from +1600 to +2200 on the Tkachuk sale, and Eklund kept them from falling further, while San Jose held at +4500 with the No. 2 and No. 9 picks in hand.
New Jersey kicked things off earlier in the day, as new GM Sunny Mehta turned Simon Nemec, an RFA he didn’t want to pay, into two future first-rounders from Calgary. The Devils drifted from +2000 to +2500 selling off a young piece, which is just the cost of a retool.
Calgary made the day’s riskiest bet, paying a top-pairing price for a 22-year-old who still has plenty to prove, and slipped from +22500 to +30000.
The Kalshi Market Likes Florida Even More
Over on the Kalshi prediction market, bettors are even higher on the Panthers. Florida sits at a 16% chance to win the Cup, the biggest mover on the whole board after jumping five points.
The flip side of that Florida move is Boston, the day’s biggest faller after a 13-point drop to 2%. Colorado slid five points to 9%, while Vegas, Carolina, and Tampa Bay each dipped a few, and total market volume sat near $197,000.
Buckle Up
Two days of chaos, and it’s only the warmup. The draft kicks off Friday in Buffalo, and free agency opens July 1 with a deep class and plenty of teams sitting on fresh cap space. If the last 48 hours are any sign, these 2027 Stanley Cup odds aren’t done moving. Buckle up.
