Three-time runner-up Netherlands and 2022 third-place finisher Morocco will meet in arguably the best fixture of the round of 32 on Monday night.(9:00 pm ET at Estadio Monterrey).
This is the only round of 32 game between two teams that sit among the top-12 favorites in the odds to win the World Cup. Both squads went 2-1-0 in the group stage.
Below, I will dissect the latest betting lines and isolate actionable value in the prop markets.
Top Netherlands vs Morocco Predictions & Expert Picks
After scouring the available markets, I have found three plays that I like. All three are plus-money wagers.
Total Goals Pick: Over 2.5 (+127) at Kalshi
I am hitting over 2.5 goals based on the efficiency of both attacks throughout the tournament. Yes, knockout stage football tends to bring an added layer of caution, but I fully expect the speedy Netherlands front line to push the pace from the jump. The Dutch are averaged 3.33 goals per game in the group stage, tied for first. All three of their matches went over 2.5 goals.
Only one of Morocco’s three games went over 2.5 (a 4-2 win over Haiti on the final matchday) but they drew heavyweight Brazil (1-1) in their opening match and have proven over the last half-decade that they can stand toe-to-toe with any team in the world. If they need to chase the game, they can and will.
The price (+127 or 44 cents) is too good to pass up here.
3-Way Moneyline Pick: Draw (+213) at Kalshi
I recommend backing the 90-minute draw. The Dutch were pegged back twice against Japan – the best team they faced in the group stage – in a game that ended 2-2. Between Real Madrid’s Brahim Díaz and PSV’s Ismael Saibari, the Moroccans boast more attacking talent than the Blue Samurai.
The fact that the Netherlands haven’t kept a single clean sheet in any of their its last seven matches also gives me confidence in this draw bet.
I wouldn’t fault anyone for waiting to bet this live since you will get a better price if favored Netherlands score the first goal.
Goalscorer Pick: Cody Gakpo (+285) at Kalshi
I am backing Cody Gakpo to find the back of the net. The Dutch are generating 14 total shots per game, securing a top-tier offensive floor. Kalshi’s 26-cent contract on Gakpo scoring at least one goal is equal to a +285 payout, considerably better than the +220 price on offer from DraftKings and FanDuel.
Gakpo has four goals in his last four games and 34 in 73 career caps for the national team. He’s currently dealing with a family tragedy but elected to stay with the team. Expect a goal as tribute.
Morocco vs Netherlands Odds & Prices
The latest prices from prediction site Kalshi list the Netherlands as a -156 favorite to advance, and modest +133 favorite to win in regular time. Morocco is +150 to advance and +270 to pull off an upset in the first 90 minutes. A full-time draw is priced at +213.
At 27¢, a $10 Morocco regulation-time win position would return about $37.04 total, $27.04 in profit. At 43¢, that same $10 position on the Netherlands would return $23.26 total, including $13.26 in profit.
The total remains shaded toward the under, with Un 2.5 goals priced at 57¢. The Over is available at 44¢ (+127 in American odds) which keeps the plus-money scoring angle alive if you project both attacks to contribute.

NED vs MAR Recent Form
The Netherlands enter this matchup boasting an elite attack, scoring 18 goals over their last seven fixtures. Their possession dominance masks a defense that often lapses late in matches.
Morocco arrives riding a gritty seven-match unbeaten streak. They accumulated five clean sheets in this span, allowing just five total goals. Their defensive structure is rigid, forcing opponents into low-percentage attempts from outside the penalty area.
Netherlands vs Morocco H2H History
The historical head-to-head sample is small but not empty: the Netherlands own a 2-1 all-time edge across three meetings, with Morocco’s lone win coming in a 1999 friendly.
Each prior matchup finished 2-1, including the Netherlands’ win in the 1994 World Cup and another Dutch victory in a 2017 friendly. Of course, with only three meetings across more than two decades – and none in the last nine years – my handicap remains rooted in current tournament form and tactical matchups.
World Cup Team Stats Comparison
The Dutch have been more clinical in front of goal, but Morocco has generated more overall shots and won more corners through three tournament matches.
The Netherlands are prone to conceding late, ranking near the bottom of the tournament field in second-half goals allowed.
Morocco locks down the pitch after halftime, leading all nations with zero second-half goals allowed.
Key Injury Updates and Roster News for NED vs MAR
Neither squad lists any star players with questionable or worse designations. It’s not exactly a true best-on-best encounter, though, as both teams were forced to leave would-be starters at home due to injury.
Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber (groin) isn’t in the Dutch squad, while Marseille defender Nayef Aguerd (groin) and Real Bets forward Abde Ezzalzouli (knee) were left at home by the Moroccans. Overall, that’s a bigger blow to the underdog. The Dutch backline is still elite in terms of personnel with Micky van de Ven on the left, Denzel Dumfries on the right, and Virgil van Dijk and Jan Paul van Hecke anchoring the middle.
