The Pacers are coming off a close 94-93 loss to the Toronto Raptors, while the Minny was just clubbed 111-84 by the Portland Trail Blazers.

There’s really been one player the Pacers have been concerned featuring, and that’s second-round pick Braden Smith.

The guard out of Purdue (38th pick) could be a nice reserve and spot-starter behind Tyrese Haliburton, who will be working his way back after an Achilles injury.

The reviews have been mixed so far, but if the kid is a legit competitor, we should see him put up a good game, after putting up a dud in the loss to Toronto.

Smith went scoreless from the field in 27 minutes, missing all seven attempts, including all four from 3-point range. To be fair, he did add a game high nine assists to his stat sheet.

Another standout making a case for minutes is fourth-year man Jalen Slawson. The 6-foot-7 wing is averaging 20.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. He’s topped 20+ points twice.

The Timberwolves feature a pair of 2026 second-round picks on their roster, though Isaiah Evans and Trey Kaufman-Renn, like Smith on the Pacers, has yet to establish themselves in the 2027 NBA Rookie of the Year odds.

Minnesota’s brightest star has been third-year guard Zyon Pullin, who has shown both the ability to score and distribute at a high level.

In the T-Wolves’ lone win of Summer League, Pullin went off for 24 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds. After a 24-point outing against Denver, he finished last game with 16 points, 10 dimes and four boards against the Blazers.

With Mike Conley Jr out in Minny, there’s no real established backup point behind LaMelo Ball, with Evans slotted in currently in that role. It’s been a slow Summer League start, as he’s scored just six total points on 2-for-23 shooting through two games.

Pullin could challenge Evans for that spot if he continues to raise eyebrows and keeps that momentum into camp.

That’s about the only juice coming out of the Wolves’ side, as they have failed to break 85 points in each of their last two outings.

The Pacers have touched the 90-point plateau in each of the their three appearances in Summer League, but this isn’t a dynamic scoring unit that can carry another team Over a total.

Since scoring 105 in their Vegas debut, the Timberwolves have not been able to get the offense going, and I believe the trend continues.

With development of the draft picks and unearthing potential useful pieces top of mind, expect plenty of minutes to be doled out up and down the roster, keeping this score low.
