Washington Commanders

Founded in 1932 as the Boston Braves before moving to the nation’s capital in 1937, the franchise claims five total NFL titles. Washington won championships in 1937 and 1942, followed by three Super Bowl victories (17, 22, 26) under Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs, remarkably doing so with three different starting quarterbacks. Canton inductees include Sammy Baugh, John Riggins, Art Monk, Darrell Green, and Joe Jacoby.

Northwest Stadium

Northwest Stadium is located in Landover, Maryland, roughly five miles east of Washington, D.C. The open-air stadium seats approximately 62,000 spectators and features a natural Latitude 36 Bermuda grass playing surface.

The stadium is exposed to mid-Atlantic seasonal transitions. Late-fall and winter matchups frequently feature heavy rains that can soften the turf, along with cold winds and freezing temperatures that emphasize ball security and a strong ground attack.
